I just got chef last week and im looking to get tapes, no one on my server seems to have any and im in need of them so i can compare with the 12 point masters. Anyone know which npcs might drop the tapes the most often?

Well... I think your best bets are NS or SMC on dath. Also, you can try and loot tusken gear with the mods already on it, bando's and gloves seem to be the popular ones.

In saying this, I've been out killing the NS for a long long time and have never looted one

This has to be one of the rarest tapes out their.

Aakuans on talus are very good for tapes, you may get lucky.

I've never actually looted a tape from an aakuan, I have looted a lot of armor attatchments though. Aakuans can also drop clothing with extra mods like food exp on them

Have a +12 food exp tape that droppedfrom a NS protector. Have looted +1's and 2's from Nym's on Lok and from Marauders on Endor. Aakuans on Talus drop tapes and modded clothes from time to time. Tuskens drop modded clothes fairly regularly. Nyax has dropped some very nice tapes from time to time (saw a +19 that was looted from him not too long ago) and is worth trying also.

i have been told Aakuans don't drop experimintation tapes is this true?

anything drops mate ive had a +3 food assemble and a +4 drop from meatlumps and ragtooks

I received a +14 FoodExp CA from Nyax the first week I was a Chef. I think all the other suggestions here are also good ideas. I don't think that there is any one mob that always drops the best. However typically NS seen to be the best.

I heard they got thier loot nerfed ? Of course things like this are always rumor untill a dev says otherwise

I've not heard much, i've hunted a few and got some tapes. Got a nice +6 rifle speed.
