ok im going chef and was wondering if theres really any advantage to living in a research town? i couldnt find room to put all my factories inside the town so i put em up outside the town. now if i research the schem inside the town will the schem work outside the town as well? basically any advantages to moving to a new town just to have the research and have my facotries inside the town

The research bonus only applies to the schematics you make. It has no bearing whether your factories are in the city or out of it, since the factory only makes what the schematic tells it to.

And the research bonus does a make a difference while experimenting.
