Hi, i'm new to swg. I made master marksman, master scout, medic 3/1/0/0
and am now heading down carbines line.....(pls no comments about rifles, pistols being better
- i have a template i'm aiming for). Being new i have limited funds (my names "osna" on farstar btw) and also don't always play for 3hrs @ a time. Doc buffs are relativelly expensive (15-20k on farstar) - was wondering about 45+ minute food buffs? Options i thought of:
a) Drink - x1 vas brandy x1Garrmorl. Eat x1 scrimpi - leaves a little food room could use 3xBE Teltier noodles (would give 80??x3 =240 stamina for 45 minutes) - quite nice - but do chefs/artisans make teltier noodles??? How much would a crate of each cost?? (roughly) + would it help if i sourced the huntable ingredients (master scout)??
b)The cheap option (but do people make this stuff.....) 1 crate of bio enhanced aitha (i've seen 175 without - no idea what u would get with it - but the low filling has to beat blue milk!!) & a couple of casks of brandy (not crates
) & then either 1 crate of scimpi + 1 crate gruuvan shaal OR Bio enhanced teltier noodles and kanali wafers (could hit 240 stamina and constitution for 45 min to 1hr i.e. 3 of each). I think the former scrimpi +gruuvan shaal option has the benefits that u could use specials and then heal with your medic skills as needed, the teltier/kanali route i'm not sure on - firstly are 240 bonuses any use? (i know u could reboost before it wears out) and secondly convincing anyone to make it.
Please advice which option is best + any other suggestions?? cost is important here
If you are on farstar do u know anyone that makes this stuff?? Thx .......oh and HAPPY NEW YEAR

Well, Garmorrl is bugged, it can only be experimented to 33%, which roughly is 330 for 39 minutes (that is WITH BE enhancement)
Personally i've not seen Teltier Noodles too often, and never made them myself honestly, and not sure if its worth the hassle.
About creature resources, they need 20 Hides.
Also the noodles are in the Artisan Line, so Artisan Experimentation and not Food Experimentation comes into play, making a 12 point chef suit worthless for it, and not every chef is even an Artisan with 10 points.
Also I doubt, since you want it BE enhanced, that it will be very cheap

Doc buffs + Brandy is about as economical as buffing gets. There are foods you can add on top of that, but if you're looking for efficient use of your cash, that's the way to go. If you can really get by without doc buffs at all, you should probably be hunting bigger game. If you just start each buff session by doing 2 solo missions (Baz Nitches, for instance) you should be able to cover your expenses, and any money you make after that off missions or creature harvests is pure profit.
15k may sound expensive to you, but those buffs will increase your cash and xp earning ability 100 fold. Buy them.

As a chef and carbineer I would suggest this: (Its what i use when I am just messing around, and not on long enough for doc bufffs.
1. Brandy. (for the mind costs of heals and if you get mind hits)
2. accargym (for the action costs of Carbiner shots)
3. air cake and/or synsteak to reduce the damage taken.
either won-Won, scrimpi, gruuvan shaal, or if you can find a chef who will make them..kenali wafers...
I personally munch on a won-won every 15 mins or so, as needed, and seem to do pretty good.
P.s. Burst shot has a low ham cost as does crip shot.
you might get some good answers on the carbiner boards as well. Iebas(TaFirehawk) is the Carbine correspondant and i'm sure he knows ALL about this.

My chef was a carbineer and I went with "A" a lot. You dont necessarily need BE Teltier noodles, and with a master artisan/human combo the fill can get around 16. So if you eat the Scrimpi (33 filling) you can actually get four noodles in.
If you are hunting on any of the "basic" planets and not the adventure ones then with most of the missions you can pull this will be fine even with basic armour. If you have ubese just stick with the kinetic critters, and make sure you have a Stim B in one of your "slots".
But Brandy is a necessity for the cost of the heals, and a good Scrimpi can get you pretty far. With 33 filling you could eat three!

Thanks
Out of interest what would this shopping list cost? (roughly)
1) BE Aitha crate (25 unit crate)
2) Scrimpi (25 unit crate)
3) Gruuvan Shaal (25 unit crate)
(i know about brandy
- it would be other "food")
With the above (+brandy) i could "spam" specials and heal myself when needed whilst wearing 76% ubese. I could add good exo-wafers (or the chef equivalent - btw - which has lower filling?? +what ranges do u get with the % dmg reduction?? - thats the 4th question!!!)
Thx again

1) BE Aitha crate ---i don't sell em, at least they don't sell from me...not a big market...no clue on price
2) Scrimpi (25 unit crate)---i sell for 85k
3) Gruuvan Shaal (25 unit crate) i sell for 85
for good steak you are looking at 27 filling or so, 45% or 46% and about 35 attacks... its up to you really, i like the higher dam reduce on steak, but then again I try not to get hit all that often
you shold be able to spam specials, depending on the ubese ham costs and the gun you use, get a nice laser carbine with 32/45/32 ham costs and fire away!!

A good BE-enhanced Exo-protein Wafer (or 'SyntheSteak Lite', as I call them: 1500cr each, 6k per 4-pak on the bazaar) is 5 filling, 6 servings, 25% damage reduction for 15-19 attacks.
