Thread: Food Enhancers Optional Looted Components?
It's unclear if you're talking to me or to whoever might respond, but my reference is the following Bio-Engineer posting:

Also, I seem to recall a post by SirVimes that referred to some sort of loot drop. I'm just wondering if these will be included in this publish, or if we can expect to see this "secret research data" (as the BE post refers to it) in future publishes.
This was something that SirVimes brought up after the food patch was announced and I personally love the idea. There was also a thought about quest food schematics much like the Ris Armor but for Chefs.
In the Ranger forum they are asking the devs to change around creature harvesting because Master Scouts and Rangers basically harvest the same amount of stuff. One of the things they are asking for is to be able to harvest trophies to celebrate their kills and I think it would be a fantastic idea if they could also harvest us some food enhancing ingredients like Rancor Spleen or Kryat Heart orTorton Tongueto take the place of BE addatives in our food as an optional effect enhancer.
The only problem with this is that no matter how good the food is you can't really mass produce it
With weapons smiths they get material and the weapon lasts for a month or two, we make food and it could all be gone within 3 hours because it is consumable.
I would have no problem with this food having bonuses far above and beyond what is normally possible because of the rareity and consumable nature of it. Perhaps one of these special animal components and act as 2 BE addatives like Rancor Spleen acting as a Heavy Filling and Medium Nutrition equivilent BE addatives. They could be better than BE addatives but becuase they are harvested and not manufactured they would not really threaten the BE market in addatives.

This kind of info was exactly I was hoping for. Thanks.
