Soo Today I look at my personal email, 10 Master BE said no to my requests for Be additives. The rest said 65k a crate. Sigh, well it seems like the devolpers ideas worked they forced us to shift from crate to singles. Everyone I ask for reasources and additives simply doesnt have the time, or if they do I get a price out of this world.

Right now to make some foods you need 5 diffrent proffessions. To create certain foods, I need to do 7 factory runs. Now I ask the question was it the Devolopers intention to shift from crates to singles for chefs? If soo Barrels are still not working correctly there isnt a food chart explaining to people what foods do, Almost no one understands the current stomach filling system. It seems we were given this revamp with out any knowlage or support to help our customers to decided what they wanted or how it will work once they bought it.

I am seriously getting tired of people asking me why the filling times arent working or how the stomach filling works in comparison to everything else. What does what and how much of it can I make. Our customers still have the same mentality of the crate system if you wanted to remove this thinking from peoples heads you should have come out and told the chefs that. I dont wana keep receiving Emails and tells asking for crates of a item and not being able to make them because a BE gives me this answer

"Sorry I am not able to fill your order It is too overwhelming for me, for instance to make the most simple one in a quantity of 1000 you would need 55,000 organic, 35,000 floral, and 20,000 creature food. Wow it would take me days of non-stop hunting to get 20,000 units of good meat. "

From a Master BE. Rangers are not intrested in collecting resources with a time frame attached to them or if they are there is a huge price tag that I cannot guarantee on selling the items.

Basicly what I am asking for is a serious look at the amount of resources and the type of resources required to make chefs items. If you think the economy is bad now wait until people start milking pikets and gaining money. Lets see each piket yeilds about 100 milk soo kill 1 lair would put out about 1k milk, and each lair is about 20k soo if you figure I need 100k worth of milk you would have to milk more pikets. Making even more money enter the already out of balanced economy. People would come away with 2 million crd just on milking missions for me. I would definatly be charged at least 7 crd per unit making it a total of 2.7 million dollars to make complete factory runs of food.

That is simply outragous.

The numbers you quote are no different to what they were pre-patch. For example, Fishak would sell for between 100 and 135K a crate on Bria. So you're looking at about 2mil for a single run of Fishak from pre-patch days. That's not that much different to the new stuff, and I also see it being probably a lot lower. If every marginally non-novice scout can milk, there is a lot of suppliers, and a decent demand. On Bria, already three are a lot of questions from the scouts asking "so if I go milking, what would you pay?". From my combat friends that haven't minded paying 100K for a crate of Fishak, 100K for vasarian Brandy is no different (actually, more beneficial to them right now). While it is big numbers from our end, from theirs, it is relatively trivial. Also, don't forget that PvP has taken a huge leap since the patch so demand is even higher. Don't feel horrible about charging large amounts of money for the crates. There are many, many players willing to pay.

You need to add in the architect to make the harvesters. Then the weaponsmith that makes the guns for the rangers to kill the animals. Then the optional doctor and armorsmith to protect the ranger while killing the animals. The only person a bit useless here is the DE, but everyone already knows how useless they are.

Price the food crates in the 200-300k range. Then that 65k per crate of additives doesn't sound so bad.

DEs can make you a portable crafting station in case you want to cook some food away from the crafting station. And how about droids with 10 items storage to carry your 40 crates of bio enhancements you've just gotten from a BE?

DE's won't be useless then now will they. They will have droids that can kill things that can be harvested for meat. Now if you can make a droid that attacks animals on its own, harvest on its own and returns the meat to me, that would be something.

I too have 2 aacounts, BUT 2 accounts isn't the intended option even though it works. The intended option is to force (or at least strongly encourage) players to work together in the player-driven economy. Rangers want to hunt - good! Foods need meat. DEs want to craft droids that are needed & useful... Tailors, BEs, archies - ALL get to contribute by doing what they enjoy.

I started grinding chef as soon as I read about the changes - I think they are awesome! Once the glitches are worked out, Chef will be THE premier elite profession. Not for the faint-of-heart, not for the casual player - it is truly an ELITE profession with truly elite products to be created. We just have to get over the mindset of cheap food..

Yes it is a bit nuts. Once I started to make the new food I was amazed at the amount of additional steps. But I have to be honest, I am really enjoying myself atm. I feel like a novice chef again trying to figure out what everything does and how good I can make it. To compensate for the need for additional professions I have decided to master BE with my chef and I have another account that does my harvesting and is moving up the Ranger tree to help supply meat.

I see what you guys are saying. Never in it for the money I just wanted to have fun and experiment. But I guess I will have to switch from crates to singles, and sell that way.

I just dont feel right charging 100k for anything.

I have been a master BE and a master Ranger.

I can state for a fact, that your sticking point here is meat. Right now, unless the meat you want is on something I'm already killing, its not worth it for me to go out and hunt it for you. I had a pretty high-end set-up put together for harvesting. As it turned out, I could make more money doing missions and harvesting whatever happened to be there, than targeting a specific resource and charging 10 cpu.

I agree that 10 cpu is too much. I think the easiest way to boost the is to increase animal output on all of the harvested organics to bring them in line with the mined resources.

Examples:

I buy a BER 3 person mineral harvester. I run it for 4 days on a 50% concentration of ______ and spend 2880cr in maint. I probably buy some power at 1-2 cpu and bring my total cost to about 6000cr for 4 days. In that time, I collect 14,400 units of ______. I sell my ______ at 3cpu and make a net profit of ~ 37k. Not bad for about 30 minutes worth of work.

Vs.

I get an order for Tat Herbivore meat (fairly prevelant). I am asked to get 20k units. I can pull about50 units per critter (banthas and rontos). There are about 9-12 (avg = 10) critters per lair. I can do3 missions per hour (travel time and such) or about 30 critters (1500 meat) per hour. I get paid about 3500 per lair, so I make ~10.5k on missions per hour. I have to do 40 missions to fill that order. Or about 13 hours of kill kill kill. I get paid 10cpu on the meat after 3 days of collecting for my order maker. My net total (no costing out stims, pet stims, armor dmg, weapon dmg, travel costs... ) is about 340k.

Sounds like a good deal.... no?

Break it down to its simplist form - credits per hour.

Scenario 1 - 37k for .5 hours of work = 74k per hour.

Scenario 2 - 340k for 13.33 hours of work = 25k per hour.

Scenario 1 requires 6k, a BER 3 personal harvester, and novice artisan to find the stuff (or not if your lazy and you just drop by someone else's harvester)

Scenario 2 requires Master ranger, or at least Hunt Master, some good combat skills (enough so you can pull bantha / ronto missions - lvl 23-25) medical supplies, travel time, and a ton of focus.

Now think if instead of placing 1personal harvester, I placed 10. I'm up to 740k per hour vs. 25k per hour of collecting meat.

This is why BE tissues were never real prevelant, and never will be. Its just too much freaking work to harvest that much meat.

I feel for you chefs, I really do. But I hope you understand why BE's and rangers aren't real inclinded to just 'give away' crates of this stuff.

I hope they fix it!
