I have just got flame thrower 1 and thought i would give it a try. Yes it is good and kicks the ass of most things i have fought. However what i would like to know is that when i do flame single 1 is it my imagination or does it then take ages to fire the flame thrower again, its seems like there is a major delay which allows me to take damage from the enemy. Im not sure if it was lag as the rest of the game was fine .
Can someone please clarify.

Basically flame throwers are very slow when using specials. I'm currently at flame 2, and its a little faster but not much. Try and get yourself FT sliced for speed. It will make a world of difference.

At master with a 3.9 speed flame thrower using the specials is 9-11 seconds depending on latency. My damage sliced flame thrower is 11-13 seconds, which is highly noticable in a long fight, like with enraged rancors (My current favorite target).
You think the Flame thrower is slow, try Acid Single 1!!! heh

Negate the delay by adding in a Warcry with your attack. Warcry 1 (Novice Brawler) delays your target for 10 seconds. Warcry 2 (Master Brawler) delays them for 20 seconds. Doesn't hit all the time, but helps.
Think you're frustrated with the delay? Imagine what's going through the TKM's head when he's burning and delayed and can't hit you.

or has the quality of available resources plummeted, across the board, from the early days of the game?
When was the last time you saw anything like the Erod (sp?) Steel, for instance? I recently raided the stocks of a friend of mine who quit playing a few months back (I admin her house for my own purposes) - it was full of fruit with 900+ stats nearly across the board. (Unfortunaely had used all this before patch) I haven't even seen decent fruit spawn on Chilastra in, quite a while. Looked at swgcraft.com for anything exceptionalI should be harvesting today, and saw not one food resource I should go out of my way for.
Not really complaining. Just thinking that I may need to lower my standards when choosing what to and what not to harvest. (Also - the addition of DR has made a lot of my stored resources far less desirable.)

We are just going through another resource shift. Wait another week, and the good stuff will be found again.
