Or at least point me to somewhere I can read about it? I don't see how benefits work with this.

Thanks,

Well, there's some general info on containers in the FAQ (just added last night), you can see the multipliers they provide you with there.

The main debatesare 1) The amount of gain vs. the resource requirements and 2) The dependence on other professions for casks and barrels. Well, and there's the fact that barrels aren't working, but nobody's debating that's a good thing.

My take on #1: I wonder how much of an outcry there would be about the requirements if containers were an optional component (basically removing the small glass). 100 gems for 1.5x the quantity only seems to be a bad thing when compared to 10 gems for 1x the quantity. For a Vasarian brandy you get 3 doses right off the bat with a large glass, without having to spend any points in quantity. With a cask, you get 12 additional doses. With 6 dose stacks going for 1.5-2.5k, I think larger containers can be a profitable addition.

My take on #2: Profession interdependence is a way of life for architects and droid engineers, and they seem to be doing ok. The barrel components are already being mass produced by Master Artisans for those two professions, most of the ones I've seen go for 1-2k per crate. The Trim components haven't had a market outside the tailor community before now, but I'd expect it's not too hard to find one willing to make crates for you. They are already doing reinforced panels and synthcloth for armorsmiths.

The only increase in resource cost is in the size of the container then? Excellent. I don't mind working with others, so that's ok.

Thanks for the great info.

If you want to read a long discussion, check this thread:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=chef&message.id=26302

It came to the following conclusions:

1) If you're using BE enhancements, go with the largest container you can get

2) Don't price on a "cost" basis, but on a "unit/stack" basis. (I.e. using a large glass adds 100 resources per stack - don't markup the stack by 400-500 credits - instead increase the price by 50%).

3) The smaller (cheaper) the resource requirements, the less attractive larger containers are.
