I just recently really started looking into the different types of additives available. Is it just me or does everyone use nutritional additives?
I am trying to make some Mandalorian Wine and keep ending up with a horrible filling (60ish filling without any experimentation). After realizing that no one is going to buy any if they can't drink 2 at one time, I contracted a BE to make some CarboCaloric Eliminators. Now I get around 33 filling with no exp and a +555 buff.
The power on the Heavy Filling additives came out to 46. Has anyone else made these and what do you usually get? Also, has anyone experimented with Flavor additives? How much do they normally extend the length of the buff?Mando Wine has a base duration of about 8 min, so would a heavy filling additive double this?
Thanks in advance for the help.

46? I've never used a filling additive, but compared to the Intelligent Nanonutrients with 117 power that I'm using, that seems a bit low.

I have nothing but the crappy spawn of Domesticated meat to thank for that
Trying to keep an eye open for any good spawns on Yavin, as Mawgaxes are the only thing that give a decent drop of meat. The carbos did take it down from 60ish filling to 33 though

2 main reasons I can think of why these aren't used much
1) The cost, 60-70 units of meat go into heavy filling I believe, and half is domestic on top of that. The nutrition look like a bargain compared to that at only 20 units of any meat. The flavor one is used in a few foods but there again it has an issue with ingrediants. Milk is definatly not easy to come by in decent size stacks.
2) Very rarely will the bonus be good enough for people to want it or to set off the extra cost.
This one isn't bad being 33 filling. I do think that has a market expecially for people that would add other drinks on top of that and not take 3 right away. However I still think a 50 filling +1000 bonus version would be preferred by most people. One of these along with some brandy wouldn't be too bad.
The other additives just don't offer the big enough bonus to offset their extra cost. Changing the recipe would really be the only thing I would need. I have a hard enough time keeping up just buying carn meat, and now that it seems everyone look at BE food being the standard, there is no way I could keep up with putting 70k meat into one run of food. Even bivoli isn't that much and I use all carn meat there.

With the Wild Rice requirement, I haven't been able to get the filling below 52, and thats with 8 or more points into filling
. The duration on the wine has only an 8 min base so I dont think you could have enough time to take 2.

46 is actually a pretty decent heavy filling additive. Since these are a percentage decrease, you won't be seeing any 100+ additives (since that would make the filling 0). A Carbocaloric Eliminator has a range of 30-50% filling reduction, based on feedback we got from BEs when the revamp arrived, so a perfect additive would cut the filling in half.
There's a listing of the additive ranges at the bottom of my food chart, so you can get a rough estimate of what's "good" or not.
It's a little difficult to figure out what additive works best, but 9 times out of 10, a nutrition additive is the way to go.
Let's say the unenhanced Wine stats were +550 for 8 minutes, filling 65.
Nutrition additive (115 nanonutrient): +1182, 8m, filling 65
Flavor additive (66 Multisacharide Pentamate): +550 for 13m16s, filling 65
Filling additive (46 Caloric Eliminator): +550, 8m, filling 35
I'm not sure if a 50 filling is possible with Mando Wine without an additive, and even if it was it would probably require so many experimentation points that the buff size probably wouldn't get above 800ish even with an additive. With a filling additive, you can go from being able to drink one dose to being able to drink three (a couple experimentation points in filling should allow you to hit 33), allowing you to get up to +1500 constitution/stamina/willpower, which seems to be a good option to me.
Another thing that makes nutrition additives so prevalent, though, is that those only require generic flora and meat. The other additives have specific meat type requirements, and the flavor additives need milk.
Note: I haven't actually gotten my hands on a Mando Wine schematic, the above is based on some experiments I've done on BoH. The Wine is pretty much a clone of BoH, except for the stats effected and a replacement of one of the resource types.

Thanks for the input everyone. Thats about what I am getting with my wine right now sciguy. I personally feel the filling additive on these is the way to go. It looks like the filling limit on these is 30 (using the additive brought it to 33ish but no matter how many points I put into it, it wouldnt go below 30).
Unless I get some uber Wild Rice spawning soon, I am going to stick with this low filling version. Only thing that stinks is the domesticated meat. Looks like its time to level up an alt to rifleman/ranger and keep an eye out for spawns.
