You can find these on the planetary map or on the locations I listed. Voltaire and OafTech carry cheap, but not very high end stuff. Frosty's very random on her stocking so it depends. Shadrach has a very good stock at very decent prices of 86s and 85s.

These aren't the additives you're looking for!

So much for my secret BE additive vendor.

I prefer working directly with chefs or tailors for my additives. But, if you're gonna use the vendor make sure you have lots of inventory room.. most of my additives are packaged in
packs of 40.

If you can't find the additives you're looking for let me know, I try to be friendly about custom orders, however I understand it's usually more convenient to buy right off the vendor.

Before I became a BE....I bought a large amount of additives from Shadrach. Good guy. A little scary looking, but a very good guy. . Also makes spectacular additives.

If you are just starting off, hit a BE vendor and just buy a couple to mess around with. Maybe a crate or two.

Once you have a feel for it, and if you have the cash, I would approach BE's directly and ask (politely) about making a large order. You may want to hop on over to the BE boards and read their FAQ. It did me no end of good by doing that myself when I became chef. It really helps to understand what goes into the additives. There are several things you should know before haggling with a BE:

1) It takes at least twice as long to make additives in a factory as it does food
2) In order to make even decent additives, you need at least two, preferable THREE good organics.
3) The organics you need often include meat....and OQ,PE, AND FL need to be as high as possible.
4) The grind to BE is one of the worst in the entire galaxy. Makes the Chef grind look easy.
5) They are entirely unique. They are a profession that caters almost entirely to other master professions. Tissues for tailors, additives for Chefs, Creatures for CMs. Unlike other professions, they dont have to be good at just ONE thing. They get requests nearly everyday for any one of a number of items....and none of them are easy to acquire the resources for in quantity. Ever sampled mutant rancor DNA? THATS A LOT OF FUN. lol.

So keep all of this in mind and speak nicely to our BE brethren. They can be a bit twitchy at times. If you read some of the horror stories on their boards, you will understand why.

As for BE's that I know and can vouch for: Shadrach and Kiwee. Both are Master Chef/BE's, and are good people.

It's just that if you keep telling people about the vendor I won't be able to keep it in stock.

I appreciate the thought, really I do.. its just that I'd rather have additives in stock then sell additives.
