How is that even remotely considered "fun" and "ethical"? I'm sorry. I know I am in the minority on this. But, I'll be danged if I "macro" to grind anything. I need to feel pride and accomplishment. That being said...I plan on my grind to take approx. 30-40 hours (1 hour/night 4 to 5 weeks).
I doubt anyone considers it fun, and ethical is more a personal decision (it's not like you're exploiting to get the xp).
The problem is that, like most crafting profs, few people find chef to be a viable investment of skill points until they reach Master. So mostplayers grind up the prof as fast as they can to get to the point where they can make some acceptable quality products. Unfortunately, this tends to lead to "Master" chefs who don't really know how to make anything other than soypro/pastebread/kiwik swirl, and have little clue on how to make a good product anyway.
It's not really their fault, I suppose, although the "g3t ub3r F/\s7" mentality is a bit too prevalent (in all professions) for my liking.

Thank you for your feedback. Looking back at my statment, I believe I may have worded my feeling incorrectly. I'm actually finding it fun to learn the trade which is why I take my time. If someone wants to (as you accurately put) get uber fast that is their right. I may have a full (of useless items) vendor but at least I can have a reasonable amount of satisfactionin the crates I pull out of my factories.I can't wait until I'm a 12 point buck, but I'm not going to sacrice what I perceive as my integrity. No offense to anyone intended.
I guess I didn't have to say all that.
