Lo all.
I'm just finishing grinding Chef (4424 atm) and i've started to produce some subcomponents in the factory for future foods/drinks.
What i'd like to know is if there is a chef's factory calculator. Im asking this cos it's a bit hard to me (chef's noob) to calculate all the resources need for eg to make 5 or 10 crates of Vasarian Brandy.
When i craft a schematic it's not only for one use right? I mean if the food got5 uses, that schematic and resources are for 5 uses right? Or just for one?
My last question is (go on you can all have a good laugh at this one) some foods needs 1x container, this means for eg a large glass?
I still got many many questions in my head mates. My first crafting profession
I just love this
Thanks
Higginsis

Get a calulator mate, especially with the factory changes calculating food times is going to be hard to predict.

There's a couple useful calculators on swgcraft:
http://www.swgcraft.com/facttool.php
This lets you enter things like the item complexity, # resources used and their cost, power cost, and tells you the time to complete, along with the cost for the full run.

For more complicated (but more complete) work, this is a great tool for tracking current resources, picking the best ones for a given schematic, tracking new resources from swgcraft, and seeing whether anything better has spawned. It's an excel spreadsheet (so you'll need MS Office or Openoffice), and it's a little rough to get started, but I've found it an excellent utility. You can pick the item you want to make (i.e. Vas Brandy), let it know how many you want to make, and it will select the best resources you have stocked, calculate the units required, etc. If you track your resource costs, it will also tell you the manufacturing cost of the run, along with a "profit" modifier to get a selling price. It's a little screwy with additives, but overall very handy.
Quick note: there is a bug in the schematic for Correlian Brandy. You have to change one of the resource columns from "Correlia Berry Fruit" to "Correlian Berry Fruit". If you don't the resource gathering calculations bomb out.
When you make a schematic, that particular one is only good up to the "manufacturing limit" you set when you create it. So if you make a schematic for Brandy and set the schematic with a limit of 250, after making 10 crates the schematic disappears. Each Brandy will come out of the crate with the number of uses set during experimentation.
Drink containers allow you to increase the stack size of a drink. Small glasses are the base level, Large glasses give you 1.5x the stack size as a small glass, Casks give you 3x the stack size. Barrels don't work right now, so don't waste your time on them. Casks are definitely the way to go, especially for BE-enhanced drinks. You will need to get Trim components for them, which is a Tailor item. Most tailors sell these for 2-3k per crate (at least on my server, your economy may vary).
