Greetings everyone,

I have been reading the forums recently and am trying to work out what I will need to do for optimal results from my crafting. I am courious about the 12 point references. What exactuly does this mean and how would one obtain such a status?

Does the 12 point spread between each crafting profession or is it something that you will need specialized for each profession or is it just a chef thing?

If you are force senstive and have the crafting trees there does this max your skill points out?

I know these questions are basic but like I said I am very new to crafting. Infact I have simply did my grinding only and have not attempted any projects yet as I am not sure how to go about doing so as of yet which is why I am here.

Thank you in advance for all your answers.

Crafting professions generally max out at 10 experimentation points (humans can get up to 14 in Artisan). On top of the max 10 points from skill, you can get up to +25 from skill tapes for an extra 2 experiment points. Humans are naturally +15 in Artisan crafting only, so 100 + 15 + 25 = 140 skill = 14 points.

CasualMaker covered the skill tape situation, here's some more info.

Experimentation skill modifiers do not work across different crafting professions. This includes items of the same type between Artisan and an elite crafting profession: so having +food experimentation only works with items in Chef, it won't improve food from the Domestic Arts branch of Artisan. Well, ok, there is the fact that experimentation on crafting stations (schematic is gained in Architect) are based on Artisan experimentation, but that's most likely a bug.

Every crafting profession has a "{Prof} experimentation" skill mod, which applies to all items gained in that profession. Most of these have skill tapes that can improve your skill, although I think BEs are still being left out; AFAIK there arestill no +BE experimentation tapes dropping.

The Force crafting skills do apply to all crafting professions. However, they do not grant any extra experimentation points. The FS skills only act to modify the success rolls: Force Experimentation improves your success rate while experimenting (same bonus as Bespin Port or a Research specialized player city), Force Assembly improves your success rate during the initial combine (like Pyollean Cake), Crafting Technique reduces the chances of critical failures (I think for both assembly and experimentation). These bonuses do stack on top of any +experimentation skills you have, both from skill boxes and from skill tapes.
