Every chef schematic now has an optional Food additive slot. Food additives are made by chefs, using a mixture of water and a Bio-enhancer. There are 3 kinds of Food additives:

Light Food Additive:
10 water
1 light or medium bio-enhancment (I think this is what it said, but I'll have to double-check)

Medium Food Additive:
15 water
1 medium or heavy bio-enhancer (I think this is what it said, but I'll have to double-check)

Heavy Food Additive:
20 water
1 Heavy bio-enhancer

I will let you know as soon as I find a willing bio-engineer as to the actuall affects of the enhancers.

From what I've heard:
There are 12 Bio-enhancers 3 qualities (light, med, heavy) for 4 experimentation trees (Filling, Flavor, Nutrition, Quantity). When added to the food, they give a boost to the experiementation for that tree.

I'll keep you posted.

I'm hoping this is tested on test center, if not though I have a Master BE on one account and Master Chef on my other. I would be willing to post test results once this got to live, although I fear that would be too late.

It's third on my list.

1) Try one of each buff
2) Experiment each experimentation tree as high as I can get it (Find change in buff)
3) Try BE supplements / Cask and barrel

I'm really concerned about how much the resource requirements have changed for additives. For instance, with the current additives, I really would love to use the systemic cognitive enhancers, but they take 100 resources, 75 of which is meat(50 of that being specific meat, 25 dom meat and 25 wild meat.). That is an expensive additive

Ezran,

My questions are:

1. Do all the Artisan food/drink got the additive slot?

2. Can a Artisan craft the additive with the BE's product? Do you have to be Novice Chef to do that?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, all food/drinks have an additive slot (Dom arts included)

2. Can a Artisan craft the additive with the BE's product? Do you have to be Novice Chef to do that?

Yes, Dom Arts 4 gives you the "light food additive" which takes any of the four "light bio-enhancers". The light food additives can be used in any food, regardless of if it has a light, medium or heavy food additive slot.

Medium and heavy food additives require medium and heavy bio-enhancers. Medium additives can only be used in medium or heavy additive slots (Mostly for chef food). Heavy additives can only be used in heavy additive slots (Again, chef food).

For your analyzing pleasure ...

I had the joys of working with some of the BE components for flavor and quantity.

Here's the details (it's not much .. down at the bottom of the page)

The summary:

  • The BE components have a definate benifit now

  • The light quantity component doubled (or better) the quanities of the food

  • The light flavor component increased the duration a small amount (1-2 min on a 12 min food)

  • Wild Meat is required in all the light BE components that my BE could make at Tissues II

  • Domesticated meat is required in some of the BE components
