Ok This patch has got me utterly frightened. I do NOT like the 1 hour decay on a 15min buff. Some of these buffs I have seen are utterly useless.
Flameout:
Quantity: 1
Filling: 101
Reduces damage taken from attacks. 85% Damage reduction for 3 attacks.
Umm filling 101? basically prevents 85% dmg for a whooping 3 attacks or 10 seconds,, MAYBE,,, and then you cant reuse it or ANY other drink for 1 hour? Here is what I am seeing at this point, the devs said this is what we are going to do, we dont care what the chefs want or what the customers of chefs want. We are going to throw this on the TC give the 5 master chefs on the TC a week or 2 to test it (without any help on resources which are hard to get) and then throw this on live with a half baked testing.
So far some of these changes look great, some look completely useless and a profession killer as far as profit, and usefullness to the consumer. We have had zero input on these changes toOUR profession during the development. I think it is high time we took a stand and at least get the devs to give us temporary MC TC charaters with resources so we can test the bloody changes. Thenwe also need to be able to get them to makechanges the stuff that is pointless or stuff that missing, (eg FISHAK) SirVims you are doing a terrific job, but I think it is time the DEVS get more involved in thecommunity of profession that they are playing GOD with. We have only heard stuff second hand from you and they have had your hands tied as far as what you have been able to say. ENOUGH silence, it is time for communication with the DEVS and NO MORE SECRETS.

These figures so far are only the preliminary, unexperimented, unbioengineered combines using low- to medium-quality resources.
Who knows what this can be experimented into with the right resources and bio additives? And even as it is now, to a crafter/BE/surveyor who wants nothing to do with fighting, those 3 damage reductions might make the difference between a successfulescape and a cloning center visit.

Whoa! I completely missed that! Where did you see 101 for flameout?

Plus, that would be good in PvP when players usually can incap a player in the first three hits, you'd have a HUGE advantage.

Ok knowing this stuff isnt bio engineered and doesnt have any food additive makes me feel a little bit better, but the duration on the stuff and the stomach decay is messed up. As far as the PvP advantage, yes it would work in a duel PvP battle, and help in a large scale fight. So I guess it could have a market in PvP cause you will probably die before the decay timer kicks in andthat edge might allow you to KO an enemy or 2 before you get taken out.

I'd use it, on Bria a had a character that was a very good duelist, I'd kill for a food that would act like 85% armor for3 attacks. I think if anything... these new foods will change the dueling landscape quite a bit. Often when I dueled on Bria, I would use a macro that ate 2 ryshcates and a BoH, it was completely undetectable as a buff and gave me a huge advantage. With all these new foods it opens up a huge amount of strategies for duels and also pvp.

My point exactly.

Also, did you bother to check if this was a duration or instant effect food? Sounds too me like the new Starshine Surprisees that last until your incapped. So you could atke this, wait until your stomach drains, then eat some other stuff. I think the PvP folks are going to crazy for these combos of duration and instant effect foods.

Oh, also if I'm interpreting the effect of that food correctly, it will also reduce stun damage by 85%! Try finding an armor that will do that. You may feel it's the most useless thing ever but I guanatee it will sell to those who are looking for every edge they can get.

One thing that really needs to be checked with flameout (which looks cool otherwise) is that it's three attacks, or three hits. Most combat classes have some sort of evasion (dodge, block, counterattack), between these and your normal defense, you get misses. If combat goes "miss, miss, miss, head hit 500 damage", if the flameout tries to take 85% off the three misses and is gone when you take the500 dmg hit, it's usefullness is going to be zip.

I agree, it *should* only take effect in a hit that does damage. But then again, usually if an opponent goes miss, miss, miss, head 500, the battle is over already.

It is if the BH is already dead.
Agree totally. This also has applications in hunting groups that will kite MOBs. Example - if your 8-person Kryat hunting party all buff up with this, and you effectivley kite a Kryatt, you can effectivley deal with 2 hits without dying (as you would normally) AND most of your party could unselflessly draw the Kryat away knowing that they wouldn't go down if hit.
People who solo PvE won't have as much use for it though.
Also, thinking Pre-Patch -something like Breath of Heaven gave +175 un-researched, but on research that effectiveness was increased by 250%, If the same was applied to this, I could conceivable seeing it taking up only 30% of your stomach, or maybe lasting for 5 hits...
Not that I'd know though, since I'm not on the TC...

If it's 3 hits, thats 2 seconds max if you are up against a BH - not worth filling 1 hour with a 2second buff, even if it is delayed until needed :/
