Thread: Updated info on Food additives
The benefits are very close.
Quantity is still a pain in the behind (2 points for 1 use, maybe) and durations are long, so flavor isn't horribly important.
However: There are some recipes where that changes. It's a little different for each kind of buff. Very nice.
Yes, all food/drinks have an additive slot (Dom arts included)
2. Can a Artisan craft the additive with the BE's product? Do you have to be Novice Chef to do that?
Yes, Dom Arts 4 gives you the "light food additive" which takes any of the four "light bio-enhancers". The light food additives can be used in any food, regardless of if it has a light, medium or heavy food additive slot.
Medium and heavy food additives require medium and heavy bio-enhancers. Medium additives can only be used in medium or heavy additive slots (Mostly for chef food). Heavy additives can only be used in heavy additive slots (Again, chef food).

Reply, so far. Filling and nutritution are neck and neck.

I thought so at first, but flavor could overrule filling on exceptionally long duration buffs with fairly small filling. Think about it. If you can get a 50% increase on40 minute buff
The way I read it, all the existing food tissues are going to be changed. There will be one tissue for each experimentation category and additive size. A "Nutritional" additive will bump up the buff size, and will come in small, medium, and large varieties. I'm not sure if that's going to be represented by seeing a larger initial Nutrition percentage, if it'll act as a percent increase to the base buff (kind of like how micronutrients currently affect duration on Live), or if it has a flat bonus like the current stat bonus tissues (although I don't see how that can be implemented with all the various things Nutrition represents now).
Hmm, I wonder if it might be easier to use Quantity tissues (are those even a choice?) instead of larger drink containers...
Every chef schematic now has an optional Food additive slot (light, medium or heavy). Food additives are made by chefs, using a mixture of water and a Bio-engineer Bio-enhancer. There are 3 kinds of Food additives:
Light Food Additive(Dom Arts 4:
10 water
1 light bio-enhancement
Medium Food Additive(Novice Chef):
15 water
1 medium bio-enhancer
Heavy Food Additive (Master Chef):
20 water
1 Heavy bio-enhancer
Artisan food has a light additive slot, which takes only light additives.
Low level chef foods have a medium additive slot, which takes medium or light additives
High level chef foods have a heavy additive slot, which takes light, medium, or heavy addtives
I will let you know as soon as I find a willing bio-engineer as to the actual affects of the enhancers.
From what I've heard:
There are 12 Bio-enhancers 3 qualities (light, med, heavy) for 4 experimentation trees (Filling, Flavor, Nutrition, Quantity). When added to the food, they give a boost to the experiementation for that tree.
