Here's a couple of ideas I've been tossing around for a while...I realize these are extremely unlikely to happen, but wanted to throw them out here for discussion.


Synergy

Createanother stat per food/drink called synergy which would use exp points and grant bonuses when used in combination with other foods (that have also been synergy experimented). You hit a certain level of synergy and 2 items can be linked, but hit an even higher level and you can link 3 or maybe 4items. This linking would offer some benefits to account for less points spent on the buff or duration, but I'm not looking at this for increased power, but mainly for a little roleplaying and chef differentiation. This would allow chefs to actually create menus and be specialized in unique creations. Since synergy could be experimented on so many different items, there would be no way one chef could -- given any semblance of a real life -- out do every specialist chef out there.


Specialty Schematics

Another idea would be to make a small modification to bio-linking where a chef is allowed a certain number of "specialty" schematics that they have bio-linked to them that grant bonuses. Perhaps bonuses on the individual items may be passed up to leverage a combination bonus when used jointly with another specialty item from the same chef. Something like one specialty item at each of the experimentation boxes with a bonus of 3 at the master box. Makethese specialtyschematicscost chef xp which would provide another level of end-game for chefs or allow a dabbler to be slightly better than average on a couple items.


Let's be honest, if you are a 12-pt chef whose been around a while, thenthe only difference (give or take a few points) is what you name your stuff.

    I like all the creative ideas on these forums, and many exceed greatly the capabilities of the current dev team.


    Also, until SOE is really committed to this game, the most we should ask for is fixes.


    Maybe after they really fix all the broken stuff we can start to ask for more creative crafting content.


    However, the reality is that SOE is only going to do what it has to, what it wants, and most importantly, what it is willing to spend limited funds on.

    devs would never go for it they dumbed down the game to make it balanced and easier for everyone i think it made it worse. One can hope for some form diversity with the other mmo's out there.

    My brother told me about this idea...I think it is genous....


    LAXETIVES
    Say you have just eaten and your stomach is full. These will put all your stats down alot about 2 minutes, but then at the end of the 2 minutes your stomach will be empty...





    I really think those people with signatures that look like part of the post are really annoying, thats why I made this one.

    I think the laxative idea, while kind of revolting and should be named something else , is a good one. However, the food would have to be made out of something really hard to find and specialized, and the experimentation should be difficult on it. That way the chefs will have to sell it for an exorbitantly high price. Otherwise, fullness is completely a moot point, if everyone can buy and use the laxatives easily.

    i agree, it should be like 100k a piece, not a crate, 100k for 1 use. And should be fairly hard to find, and only designed to either put down drink or food, depending on what resource you put in.

    I think a better idea is to have a new, totally random (i.e. off any level creature or NPC)but veryrare loot drop. A one-use stim that clears the food or drink stomach.


    A new loot item like this should not be THAT difficult to introduce. By making it totally random, there will be no way to camp the spawn, and these items will sell for a good price, giving new players a good potential source of income.


    I doubt we will have a chance to get any new chef content that is in any way complicated. SWG is 2 years old already, and in the "maintenance phase" now. SOE is concentrating their develop efforts on newer games by now, and the only love we will get in SWG is when a new expansion rolls around...
