Thread: Ruby Bliel and Havla

I have a friend who just became master doctor. Shewent to the doctorforums to read up on doctoring tips, and came across a link to a website where it stated that she could use Ruby Bliel and Havla to increase her wound treatment speed. According to the information that I have about these 2 foods, it appears that they are for heal recovery speed. To me, heal recovery sounds like the time it takes for your health bar to return to its original full state, and wound treatment is the time it takes between heals. Which is correct?

Thanks!

"Heal recovery" acts as a bonus to both injury treatment speed (time between using stims) and wound treatment speed (time between healing wounds or buffing). It has no effect on your health bar returning to it's full value (that's based solely on your constitution/stamina/willpower stats). The bonus is either a percentage decrease to the unbuffed recovery time (which itself is based on medic/doctor's innate speed skills), or as a bonus to the speed skills themselves (which would make the actual gain depend on what their ubuffed skills are).

The last time I tried, Havla only worked if the recovery bonus was at 100, but that did allow me to spam wound heals and stimpacks with no delay. Only having Novice Medic, it normally takes me 30s. A lower bonus adjusted the "you cannot do that for T seconds" reports (so a 50 bonus Havla made it count down from 15s instead of the normal 30), but if I tried to heal after the reduced time, I got the message "you must wait to do that". And the "you are now ready to heal" message still came at the normal 30s mark.

fatgit made some mention about "Havla working nicely now", but I'm not sure if that meant he used additives to get to the 100 bonus level, or if they're working properly with bonuses under 100%.

I made some Havla yesterday for a doc to test, the 80% didnt seem to work, but some 101% meant he could buff instantly after one buff.

I made some more today, 95%, and tested on my buffbot, and it most definitely allows you to buff/heal without a gap

heh had the reply box open, so missed sciguyCo's post :

80% didn't work, 95% does, 101% does.
I'll try to test with some other percentages if possible.

What's your buffbot's wound heal speed? I wonder if it requires Havla + wound heal > 100 (I needed a 100 bonus with my novice medic, who doesn't have any wound speed skills). Or maybe the 95% worked due to rounding down...

This stuff IS pretty amazing - been shocked a few times by doctors rapid-firing an entire buff set out in less than 20 seconds.

I've tested +94 and +101 havla as a master doc -- only the +101 worked for me.

It is truly amazing stuff though -- I had a very impressed 40-ish people in line the day I was testing it... So amazing, in fact, that I'm seriously considering dropping my combat skills to go doc/chef.

Stomach filling is a bit of a problem though, as ideally a doc is using havla and bivoli at the same time -- +100 with 25 filling would be a huge improvement over the stuff I tried with 33 filling (almost regardless of the number of heals respectively allowed).

Eventually this should catch on in PvP too -- 20+ poison cures without having to wait 3 seconds would be an amazing advantage in combat... Ooooohhhh... I should try it while I still have combat medic! Imagine a cm able to spam 20-ish poison throws.

Right, only the 101% worked, apologies for saying the 95% did, someone had moved some parts about in the house, so the stack I assumed was 95 was 101%.

Even so, 100% is easy to achieve, even if not working as intended.
I managed to buff 6 people in under a minute (had to use 2 uber brandies & canape) during a base attack, so it's well worth using at times.

Would be nice to see the lower percentage ones working

Yup it does work. I made a few batches of Havla (both 100 and 101) and had my doctor friend try out his buffs. He was able to buff all stats in 15 seconds (approx) which is still pretty amazing. I heard that it must be at 100+ to be able to do this but I myself havent tested it at lower lvls. Pretty interesting stuff really

Just done a test on chimmy. I tested it at +100 exactly for gablak, i buffed someone in 6 seconds flat (dont wait for msg's or anything just hotkey all the packs and press them one after another).

It is definatley a very very cool food.

Some docs on their forums were reporting that it stops working after 12 heals even though it was supposed to be good for 23 heals. Can anybody confirm this?
