Thread: Is Trim still widely used?

I'm a Tailor, with a quick question for you guys. I know Pre-CU i used to get TONs of orders for factory runs of Trim for making Casks to put Vasarian Brandy in.

Post-CU I haven't gotten many orders for Trim. Is it still widely used? I'm not even sure if Vasarian Brandy is even popular anymore.

Demand for drinks has gone down, but they are still used for casks. Ruby Bliel and Mandalorian Wine seems to be big sellers as drinks. Alot of the chef stat buffs have a fairly short duration compared to the artisan regen buffs which last for around an hour. Vasarian Brandy isn't as useful as it was before and I know alot of people got chef just to make money making vasarian brandy looking fora quick buck. So most if not all of that "supply" source isn't there anymore.

But yeah, I would expect that you would still be able to make money off of trim. Though you might want to try and find a chef doing alot of business with drinks and ask him if he needs some trim. Might be a bit faster than just making a ton of trim and waiting for a chef to stumble on your shop.

Personally, I haven't made any more casks since the CU since the drinks aren't as useful. But I also had a stockpile of around 100 crates to burn through before I need to make any more too. So until I get a special order for something I don't really see myself looking for trim anytime soon. *Shrug*

Good luck

Thanks for the info. i didn't know if Casks worked on all drinks or just on Brandy.

i'm not going to keep a vendor stocked with tailor components, but i have been posting in the Lowca trade forums that i'll take orders for full, half, or quarter factory runs of Trim for Chefs, and Synth clothing, battle padding, and RFP for Armorsmiths, and will just make these as they are ordered.

I still blow through about 2k of trim a week. Allthough the original poster is correct on the old drinks not being as useful, there are now new drinks that have become very popular. Caf is a very good drink and sells, ruby biliel sells quite well, and my duetro pyro flies off the shelves. Alot of the bh have found the duetro to rock for short bursts of accuracy when fighting a jedi and for only 12 to 16 fill. In addition, with the right adds u can get the time up to around 1 1/2 minutes.

one thing ot consider is alot of chefs have picked up 0/0/1/0 tailor just to make trim. but since your on lowca if you dont charge to much you might have a new customer. ill shoot ya an email and spread the word if i see anyone asking.

Since casks are a pain to make at any kinda decent rate I have switched my artisan drinkss to large glasses and adjusted prices to compensate for teh lower quantity/uses. I save my casks for mando/corillian ale/brandy/pyro/vayerbok/pica......

This helps even with my alt being BE 0010 tailor, I can make my own trim but the amount of gemstone and time for casks is crazy

I use casks for all drinks that require a container.

A friend runs a vendor that only stocks finished food additives and casks and he cannot keep it stocked as the chefs continue to buy out multiple full runs at a time.

Wehave gone through 10+ full runs of casks in the last two weeks.

Trim is agood thing, and thats what she said.

Yep, can't get enough of the stuff. I had 20 schematics made for me 2 weeks ago, and that's all gone, and that's with me semi-slacking on the crafting. If I'd been at it full force, it may have been eaten up in a week's time.
