Thread: Master Chefs of Shadowfire, Gather

I am master Chef on Shadowfire. I am looking to network with other master Chefs so we can try to come to an agreed price of our new items. This way we all make money and no one undercuts the other like they have been doing with spices. I started selling crates of Muon for 13k then had to go all the way down to 6k due to so many people searching then undercutting by 500-1k.

If we can meet and come to an agreed upon price list, I think this would work in favor of us.

Thanks

Im a chef on shadowfire, but even within a server, one price does not work. Resources differ, and some people will not pay the same amount for a sub par food/drink if they can get better. I personally do not agree with established pricing but if you want some other chefs on the server then send me a PM and I can give you a list of chefs I know of. However having an average is not a bad idea, but I usually just see the economy come to an average on its own. Also, not everyone reads the forums so while we (forum users) have a price, the non forum users will have another.

I'm here too. Neni is right, prices fluctuate too much to really set. I think Neni and I are pretty close on price from whatI hear from my customers. He beats me a bit in quality sometimes though its a small difference usually. ( **edit** skill tapes !! )

But there are a few others around who vary alot. For an example, Chilly ( pepper I think ) sells very cheaply but the quality tends to be a bit low. I think you can sell alot cheaper if you don't worry about resource quality but that puts you in a niche. Powergamers won't buy from you because they only want the best and will pay whatever it takes.

Now with the new patch, we may not be able to all keep in stock on every item people may want. We may have to specialize a bit more. If this happens then we may all find our nice little niche in the food chain. I like working with my fellow chefs rather than competeing against them.

Just my thoughts

I agree. Having a set price is a nice idea in theory, but impossible/impractical to enforce. However, if you ever want to know what " I " would charge for a particular item/crate - feel free to send me a /tell or an in-game email, and I'll try to respond

Hiya fellows.

Yeah, I'd be leery of an all-out price setting conspiracy , but I do try and see what everyone else is charging, simply because my own formulas sometimes just don't work, it seems. I want to keep things fair, and make a profit too.

See y'all around!

The only thing I will be sure of though, is that with drinks, I will be pricing by the charge since the addition of containers. Food Im not so sure of yet.

Hello my fellow Shadowfire chefs! Relatively new to chef, am starting up a shop outside of Theed after the patch. Looking forward to the friendly competition

There is nothing friendly about chefing. Its a cut throat buisness. Either eat or be eaten... Ok honestly there is plenty of buisness to go around hahaha so competition wont be needed
