Thread: My fun adventure and why I want to cry
for the patch so I could get to work on the new food and make the mega credits. Sometime on Saturday or Sunday I heard that Fishak crates were going for an
insane amount of money...the greed bug hits me...now I am trying to get master by Tuesday night/Wednesday morning to allow some time to pump out some crates
of fishak and get even more money. So I am grinding merrily away thinking of the millions of credits I would be rolling in. Every hour or so I would go hunt
down more large stacks of resources to make fishak with, I put down all sorts of heavy miners and harvesters, bought two more factories to add to the three
my main has. I had been working for over eight hours straight today trying to get master, and I finally did about 5 hours before the server went down. I had
been making carbosyrup and PU-36 in my factories for the past 2 days trying to get enough done to make a good amount of fishak, I had enough resources to
make 80 crates. I had spent quite a few, but I expected to make it all back along with a healthy profit. Well, this will not happen now, for good or for ill,
maybe I should have done a little more reading before I decided to embark on this little greed adventure ( I still am going to be a chef, I can't wait to
make all the new foods!).
berries were actually just wasting my time, money, and lots. I discovered this problem 15 minutes before the server went down, swooped to the nearest bazaar
and prayed there would be 40k fruits on the bazaar (I knew there wouldn't be, but I was freaking out) I got 7k, but I have a good friend who would definatly
be able to get me the 40k I needed during the day on Wednesday, so not to big a problem, just a little setback right?
a thread in which someone asks "Will the old fishak schematics work after the patch?” This grabs my attention; I was more than likely going to be running the
schematics after the patch. Well apparently, the consensus is, old schems will not work, or at the very least it will not be the old fishak. Now I was
scrambling. My plan was to get whatever I had done for PU-36 and carbosyrup and start making fishak and so it all day long...this isn't so bad, maybe not 80
crates, but a good amount...
forum, can you guess what it said? Here are some key words, Patch, Wednesday, Early, 11th...I think I almost died when I saw that, this is the first time I
didn't want a patch to come out early, the thought of it coming out early never crossed my mind, how could this be?

just had to complain I guess, just because of the money and time and sleepless nights spent trying to get my 80 crates of fishak ( although I still would
have been master chef on Wednesday night, I just moved up my schedule a day to get in the fishak).
who deserve the mega credits, not I, but dammit that 24 mil would have been sweet

Amen to that brother. I raised my price from 65k to 70k during this whole mess(mainly because I used to sell it at 70k). I even sold out of about 25 cases in the course of 3 hours one Friday night. Keeping the prices the same so my clientbase come back to me after the patch was more important that screwing them over to make a quick buckbefore the patch.

I never becamea Chef to become rich and certainly none of the original Chefs that were on the message board6 months ago did either and now that our profession became successful and people have found they can make money as a Chef we have attracted a lot of people who just crank out fishak to make a quick million credits.
I think that these money grubbing people have really taken the ChefProfessiondown to a level where I am almost not proud to be a chef anymore. I will always have been one of the first generation chefs back when the chef board was the domain of a wonderful community and discussion about chef schematics and great humor. I would gladly accept being broken again if I could have those days back.
Holocrons attracted an unsavory group of people that were being forced to take our profession so they could become a fencer with a glowing sword (Although some of them found that they liked our profession and to them I tip my hat, obviously this letter isn't directed to you ). Most of them told us how much they hated our profession on the way through and many, many others clogged our forum with irrelivent questions cause they were too lazy to read the stickies at the top of the board or were too lazy to go out and find their own Fishak ingredients so they could make their grinding money back. (Nikii can back me up on this one )
Now we have people wandering through our forum who know nothing about the profession and ask questions like "Can anyone tell me where to get ingredients to make good fishak?." because they are only interested in making money and didn't put the time into learning how to craft while they did the mad grind to fishak and completely ignored all the other schematics.
I am sorry Teebacca. I don't know you. Maybe you actually like the chef profession and arn't power grinding up to master chef and trying to make 160 crates of fishak with dollar signs in your eyes. I don't mean this letter as a personal attack, just an observation of what this once great profession has turned into. Your post makes me want to cry too Teebacca, but not cause you didn't make your fishak before the patch hit.
I rarely even come to the chef message board anymore. All I see is belly aching about the new foodlike "Where is my fishak? How am I suppose to make 2 million credits a week now?" and "I have never even tried the new food on Test Center but I hate it cause they got rid of all my best selling schematics!"
It really saddens me to see how far our profession has fallen since people found out they could make money with it. The Price of Success i guess.
Chefis more than a Cash-Cow profession.
But that is just my opinion. It doesn't seem to be shared by some of the new 3rd generation chefs coming aboard.

Hey, I know what you mean, but if the old Master Chefs won't keep carrying the torch, who will?
Wether we like everything about the patch or not, its here and we'll just have to adjust. Maybe im just feeling optomistic, but I think things will work out.
Will we be invaded by a bunch of greedy people that don't really care about cheffing? Maybe, maybe not. But we'll get thru it all. It would be nice to get this forum back to the way it originally was even just 3 or 4 weeks ago, which was a pleasant hangout amoungst chefs who really care about what they are doing. We certainly can't do it without you Nikii.
