Hi everyone

I'm grinding an alt toon to master chef, because I really miss crafting and I think chef will be an excellent profession since there's so much flexibility and so many variables. It seems like chef will be a great challenge for me

Now, here's my question - I'm not sure what other profession will go nicely with chef. I was interested in trying MBE, but it doesn't look like i'll have enough skill points to do both.

What do you all have as your second mastery?

Merchant?

Might want to get Tailor 0010 too so you can make your own Casks easily.

MBE is nice if you want to make your own additives, but you can always buy them from a BE vendor instead.

Merchant, BE, Scout (meat & milk harvesting), and Tailor are the only professions that effect Chefs.

You could always dabble in something else you're interested in? SW or DE? Kind of up to you.

D'oh!

Lol thank god for online character builders. I found out that I CAN do MBE MChef and almost Master Artisan so I can just drop a few boxes of BE or chef when I need to make some artisan stuff. Wow that's such good news.

I'll definitely be buying some of the BE additives, but I'll also want to make my own from time to time so MBE will be very handy to have.

I'm SO excited to start learning how to make the best foods in the world. I'm still not sure whether I'll be selling any or not. SomehowI doubt I will, cause I'm really not the selling type (I'm more of a buyer )

There's just so much to learn about this! and it's impossible to grind and read at the same time (for me anyhow) so I'll just have to try and be patient and grind away then start learning after I've finished mastering the skill.

*does the antsy dance*

Yeah, theres alot to learn about Chef.

What I like about it is how flexible you can design foods. I often end up annoying or chasing away customers by asking them "What they want". Which usually ends in a small lecture about BE Additives & Experimentation.

Fun stuff though.

Oh make sure you get a Kitchen Master's Hat and Chef Apron at some point too.

keep in mind that you don't need master artisan to make the best artisan foods, all the exp points are in 4400 artisan so that may help. if you're not going to sell you might not need the xx4x line at all, and the xxx4 line you need if you survey for your own organics but some don't do that either.

another alternative is to go just 0404 BE, that lets you do all the light and medium additives, with full experimentation points, all you're missing from the master box is the heavy tissue schematics. those are in some of the most popular foods (vegeparsine, mando wine, breath of heaven, canapes i think too), but it might save you some money or effort in finding a BE for everything if you only have to find one for some things and can handle the rest yourself.
