Thread: Greetings from a soon to be Chef
I'm soon to start on the proper Chef profession and thought I'd say hi and start to get to know people on here.
I'm playing on Bloodfin, where hopefully there won't be much competition and should eventually be a pretty good market once the pvpers realise what a godsend food actually is ![]()
Any other chefs playing on there?
I'm also kind of in the dark on what to charge given that not many players realise what food does and may be hesitant to pay much. I saw the numbers 3x resources for thrown together food and 4x for experimented stuff. Sounds a good start to me so I'll be going with that.
Looking forward to the months discussing on here ![]()

Well hello there, Im also playin a chef (on Chilastra tho)... well... that is why im here...
But anywayz, I was wondering the same thing as you with charging... I tried the 3x 4x thingy, but people looked at me like I was crazy. Maybe its because no one likes my cooking, or maybe the fact that no one relisses the blessings of a chef, but as of now I've been stuck making food and destroying it, just for the XP (Im not yet a chef, Domestic Arts IV... maybe thats why...). but Im starting to run out of money and I realy dont feal like running delivery missions anymore. Anyone got any advise as to what I should do? Im lost, adrift, and I need help =)

Well I just put up a lot of experimented food for 4x on the market last night so we'll see what happens by the time I log on. I find thing will sell, just slowly.
The Bazaar actually seems to be a better place to charge more, as many people will examine the food stats when considering the food, whereas selling face to face, all they'll see is '100 creds for Ruby Bliel' and think you're crazy. It's once they can examine the stats they see it might actually be worth it.
I actually charge 2x resource. Our food gets used much faster than any other craft. People will not pay a lot for stuff that has one use. The 2x price doesnt work unless you are getting all your own resources though. Just make sure you are selling the trade. Give out samples, feed the entertainers. Word of mouth is your best seller. Then, start putting things on the BAzaar.
