Need chefs quick!!! We need people to feed US Most cantinas ar empty of food and drink we need something to enjoy whil watching a dancer or listening to a musician.

Eating and drinking animations would go a long way toward that.

If they made the equipment behind the bars into food only crafting machines then I'd be back there serving drinks and food non-stop, but as it is I can't make good food and drink without leaving the bar, so I have to come in with a finite amount rather than making them to request, which I'd prefer.

Exactly. Food crafting stations should be found almost exclusively behind the bar at cantinas, where it's logical - not in the alley behind Bob's Droid Hut. Cantina's should be a place to get food, drink and entertainment.

While they're at it, why not have food crafting stations in the medical centers? A hospital without food? What were they thinking?

There are some empty buildings in cities with mini-bars, these contain food/chem crafting stations, but I've yet to see one in a cantina.

You know, you could buy a Droid food crafting station and help out the Droid Engineers...
