Hello,

I am thinking about doing Chef to go with my profession. I have a few questions that I'd like to know before I attempt to do this.

Do you need to master the profession to get something good out of it for your own benefits or your PA's?

What does each line do exactly? I know each line affect certain areas, then again I may be wrong.

Since I will not be able to master the profession if I want to take Chef as my second profession and if my first question is answered no, then what lines should I spec in (3 lines up to level 4)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you want to make the absolute best food out there, you will need master chef.

Cooking I-IV and Mixology I-IV give you the Food Assembly and Food Experimentation bonuses. The other two lines only give you nifty foods, probably the best, though I haven't gotten far enough yet to assess that.

Doesn't Mixology give you nifty drinks?

Yes, Mixology gives you drinks. Only the Cooking skill path gives you increases to your food skills. I think you can use the food from the Domestic Artsskill pathfrom the Artisan profession as a guide to what type offoods increase what stats. In the Chef profession, the Entree line seems to give you food that increase the Health pool and stats, probably having multiples and overlap into other stats as you get farther up. Desserts seem to focus on the Action pool and stats. Drinks seem to be more oriented to the Mind pool and stats. These are just vague guidelines. I think any one path will help out your guildmates.

So what if I spec 3 lines in Chef to go with my Commando profession, would I be ok with what I have? Say I decide to do Entrees, Mixology and Cooking 1-4 would that be enough to give myself and my PA decent buffs?

i'm not sure if you can categorize all foods like that. i noticed that the alcoholic beverages actually all detract from focus, and add to str and stam. and certain foods like caramelized pknebs add to action but detract from const.

stoping at Domestic Art 4 would give you plenty good foods to craft I think , with out needing to spend the points into just the basic chef.

Sence you willby the time your a comando know at least one almost master chef you might as well buy your food from him for the really good stuff and domestic art 4 foods might cost a bit more res but there pretty good.
