If the item is made with fairly easy-to-get resources, I charge 2cr/resource...

If the item takes hide/meat/bones or is painful to create, I charge 3cr/resource.

I never charge more than that. People can also pay me in resources, as it saves me time and money.

I agree with Liv as I use the same guildlines for pricing food. With that I don't have any problems making money. I have seen some people charging 250c for a Jawa beer and thats hasn't even been experimented on. (YIKES)

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Have much luck selling in bazaars, and do you add 20 creds to the price you came up with when you do that?

I follow the exact same method mentioned above for selling my food, roughly 2-3 creds per resource and have been going through a lot. For the marketplace selling, I add an extra 20 creds to the price to cover the cost.

For large orders, I usually take off 20% of the total price to hopefully get them to place another order in the future. It has worked so far

it depends on the market. in big cities, selling for 2-3 cr per resource is pretty standard, but in places like wayfar on tat, i've been selling tetlier noodles and starshine surprise (both 120+ to health for 5+ minutes) in the bazaars for 500 each and they sell in minutes, literally. i spent an hour last night running back and forth from the crafting station, making about 5 of each, run them to the bazaar, and by the time i finished 5 more of both, my last batch had sold. it's all about supply and demand.

I haven't tried putting anything into the Bazaar yet.

I really need to give that a shot while I'm near the city. Since I have scout skills, I tend to run all over god's creation before hitting the town again LOL

Maybe if we get some set prices going, we can start some kind of union. Since there really aren't enough of us to be competeing with one another.

I have a bunch of stuff on the bazaar, Starshine surprise and the like, they aren't budging, I honestly think the chef profession is better on some servers than others.

Though , I have had a ton of request for large food orders (150+) I have to rturn them down because at least right now I cant producee that.. with useful food unless I use Artison food wich I get no EXP for.

Just wondering what methods chefs have come up with for pricing food, or any examples of prices for specific items. Just got Domestic Arts IV and working towards novice chef in the next day or two. So far all my resources have been gotten just with time as I have a few helpers getting stuff to powerskill with(I imagine that changes when you get into chef and more specific requirements), so I have no idea how much resources are worth.

Also, any chefs on Starsider, and how's it going?

I've been selling for 3x for standard and 4x if it's been experimented on at a station. It sells ok, but not in floods. I'd rather keep it at those prices and get people used to it, if I drop the prices just to get sales then if I try and hike them back up again then I'll get a lot of annoyed customers.

I rarely get the resources myself because I do not have too much time to devote to resource gathering, so I don't charge a measely 2/3 creds per resource. Are you guys serious? That's not even 50 creds for most items! How can you charge so little when missions give so much money anyway?

My prices depends on the market and the city. Popular cities usually sell for more...less crowded cities you need to lower the price for newbs. Any experimented item is more than 150 creds, and the really good Starshines, Noodles, and Bileils are anywhere from 175-225. They often sell, but I don't put too much on the market anyway due to time restraints (I'm a casual gamer).

I give 20% discounts to newbs, to non-bazaar purchases, and when I'm bartending. Really, 175-225 seems very reasonable to me for an item that buffs, say, Strength and Stamina by 130 for seven minutes with FOUR servings per stack. That'll last a player several hours. If each player used 200 credits worth of food a day, I think everybody would be happy.

Preach on brother! You guys are charging way too little for food. The basic purpose of any artisan is that they take some raw materials and then add some value to those raw materials by making useful goods. You guys are charging 1-2 creds per resource?!? The resources themselves are worth much more than that! Are you saying that when you create food, you are creating a negative impact on the economy by taking something more valuable (resources) and creating something less valuable (food)? You can make 80-90 creds running one (1) in town delivery mission! I charge 10+ creds per resource, AND I pass on the 20 cred bazaar fee to the customer. So for a Bofa Treat, I charge at least 110 + 20 = 130 creds, and that's with no experimenting. Now granted, I haven't sold much yet (I just started), but you guys should really think about NOT being a chef if you value your product so poorly. A combat class can make tons of money on a single destroy mission, and I want my cut :-)
