i have dom4, sur4, eng4, bus1 (on the artisan tree). i have 20k xp, which is a lil more than required, and the game's told me i qualify for novice chef....

i can't find anyone to teach it to me. i've tried all the artisan trainers i can find... is there a chef trainer? if so, where can i find them?

It depends on what planet you are on friend. The chef trainer on Corellia is in Kor Vella, near the starport.

There is also a Chef trainer in Doaba Guerfel on Corellia. Came as a shock to me because I was upping my Tailor skill and about to go to Kor Vella to get Novice Chef when I noticed the chef trainer right near the tailor trainer

Answer is you don't learn novice chef. Save yourself some time and frustration, and stay far, far away from chef.
