Last night I sat there, with my skill sheet open to the Chef profession, and Mixology II selected. My mouse cursor hovered over the "Surrender" button. My fingers twitched.
I thought about the bugs, and the lameness of our buffs, and the seeming lack of Dev attention. And I thought about how I hadn't done any sort of Chef XP grinding in over two weeks. And I thought about my new business venture, which is an Animal Resources shop, and how it would benefit from dabbling in the Ranger profession.
But then I thought about my inventory, which was chock full of Chef ingredients. And my flora harvesters chugging away at patches of Fruit and Oats. And I thought about the 1500 or so Wastril Breads and Steamed Gwouches that it took to get me to a 1/0/2/0 Chef.
My problem is that I like the idea of being a Chef (I've had the "Cooking" skill in every MMORPG I've played that would allow it), and I really WANT to be a Chef. But I also really DON'T want to play a broken, buggy, one-trick-pony crafting class. And right now these two desires seem mutually exclusive. And it's frustrating, and ultimately not fun (for me, at least). And it's silly to pay $15/month for something that is not fun and a source of frustration.
So I guess my question is: Is there any Love(tm) on the horizon? Something to keep me from pressing that Surrender button? Something to give me hope that maybe the Devs will be overhauling the Chef profession sometime in the very near future?
If not, then I will, sadly, be joining the ranks of those who have gone before: The ex-Chefs.

Not a sign of the bug being acknowledged, never mind being fixed :/
It's a race against time for me, which will happen forst, a fix, or me finding a new template for my char

Similar situation here.
I'm a 1-0-1-0 Chef. I'm also a Master Merchant (yes, Isomehow end up picking borked classes)and not so bad with a gun.
Pet food is still doable. ![]()
My small PA loves my buffs (as limited the selection I have is) when they work.
I guess I'm moving so slowly in Chef that by the time I get another box or 2, they (hopefully) will have fixed this bug.
I love the Chef concept and am willing to hold onto my so far meager investment in the class as they slowly address what they address.
Meanwhile, I have fun in game every day.
