Chef Archive
Thread: New ideas. Devs read.
OK. Chef right now..... BL0WS. What is needed? a fester way to get xp. Best way to do that is to increase the amount u get for each item u make. I mean seriously, how many cakes, waffers, and Jawa Beers do u have to make before u get it right? its about 20 - 55 xp for 1 item in chef. Ok u take that and add it up. ONE BAR UP FROM NOVICE CHEF IS 32000! How are u supposed to get that?? I mean Its chef! The other artisan professions go aprox80 PERCENT FASTER. 80. ok now that I got myself settled in on what I really have to talk about, here we go.
#1 Make xp easier to get for Chefs. This is a must as I said before. A must. Chef is a doomed profession otherwize.
#2 Make actions done for the people eating and drinking the crafted foods. How hard is it to make a guy lift a glass up to his mouth. Really. I know u Devs can handle it. Small mtions like these can make a HUGE effect in cantinas . Trust me.
#3 make the foods and drinks look diffrent from one another. I dont miind that much but why does exo protein waffers have to look like travel biscuts and travel biscuts look like blap biscuts and blap biscuts look like travel waffers and travel biscuts look like muffin thingys ( i forgot the name) Look it up people but as a Novice Chef i come across 1 food that looks the same as5 others. and im novice w/ none of the 4 bars up at all. Simply said. THis needs very small amount of work on.
These are my 3 main problems of chef that need fixing BADLY. Get these small minor things out of your way and just do them. Im not going to tell u the effect it will have on the entire game because it will be to great. All diffrent looking foods. People actually DRINKING and EATING away at foods. NOt just going "munch" or "slurp" that has ZER0 effect in a cantina or anywhere else. and if u want to see the Chef profession ever get used again. make the xp decent. right now it is down right pathetic.
~godlike321 ... actually alotaki who was banned for some oblivious reason. but now using a friends account who I am eternally greatful for. :-)

This is something that the developer for chef has mentioned. Well, he didn't mention XP but that there was too much clicking, or too much repetitive action involved in moving up the later. I don't know what he is going to do about it, or if he can do anything about it but I just thought I would point out that he is aware of this and it will be on his mind when he re-vamps the developer profession.

Actually, from what I understand it is rather difficult. They do these animationsthrough motion capture. Whenever they do humanoid animationswithout motion capture, it looks like crap (look at some of the new dances for the dancer profession.)The good news is that the art director said that theyhad a motion capture session recently, and drinking and eating animations were on his list of things to do. So we should see them in the game soon.

Got nothing on this one. I have brought this up with the developers before (along with a lot of other stuff.) It is probably a low priority thing, though.

The EXP needed for Chef is insain, but since I'm Master now, I demand all others struggle and suffer like I did =)
Changing what food looks like and animation to go along with it isn't gonna save the Chefs -- new and better abilities are our only hope.
What Chefs need is to be the Buff masters. Right now that title goes to Doc's. They can add insane HAM increases to six bars for 2 hours at a time. We add on avg for master products about 400 and 700 seconds is a long time for us. We need better food stats and durations.
