Thread: Make the chef profession better and the ENTIRE GAME will be better.
Nice post. Chef productsneed a boost, priod.
However if they nerf doctors, i'll set a bounty on your head. ![]()
Adding more numbers isn't what we need... Read this and I think you'll agree:

So I've been an aspiring chef since release, but like many of you, I've been incredibly disappointed in the bugs and unfinished business of our profession. Unlike many of you, I became disgruntled with the profession, so for about a month and a half, I worked on other skills and played another side of my character. *ashamed face* But after grinding my way to 0/0/2/2 chef, I didn't have the guts to surrender any of my skills, in case I wanted to come, and these past couple weeks, I have been. I REALLY LIKE CHEF, but I was just sick of all the irritations that we as chefs face. I have enough of those in real life. I've been working on my skills and am now a 1/0/2/4 chef (Culinary Master! Whoo hoo!) and over these past couple weeks, I've been thinking a lot about the profession. And I have come up with two very simple points that I hope one, two, or every single developer at SWG will read about our profession. If someone has said these things already, I apologize, but I always feel the need to put in my two cents worth.
My first thing is this: We are the buffing profession, and as such, we should have thebest buffs. Before ANYONE misinterprets that (God forbid), I am not asking for anyone else to be nerfed. But to explain, I must compare.
First of all, smugglers. Smugglers, I think, are the least of our worries because the power of their spice buffs are balanced out with the downers, which are none to pleasant. If I had to choose anything, I'd choose our buffs going up, along with smugglers buffs going up as well. However, the power of the buff would have to be balanced by a pretty sucky downer. And I, personally, do not think that neutron pixie is worth being incapped for those few minutes that one must be incapped. Its buffs are not powerful enough. But I digress. The point is that smugglers and we both need a boost to the buff department.
Secondly, doctors. Now, doctors are my friends. I'd like to become one myself. However, their existence in the game is to HELP people. Heal wounds, cure diseases, cure poisons, so on and so forth. It's only in the third? fourth?tier that they even get the sucky buffs that they do. And I'm astounded when I hear someone call a +800 to every stat "sucky."
That's the thing--WE are the buffing profession. Our SOLE PURPOSE in this game is to create buffs. But we're being undermined by a profession whose buffs are only tertiary to who they are.
And again, I say, don't nerf the doctors buffs. MAKE OURS BETTER. Make our buffs GOOD. Make them be not a side note. If someone went to a doctor to get buffed, they're not going to come to me, a chef, to get something that buffs them even +300 per bite. I had a doctor friend who, on a good day, could buff all six health through quickness stats 1000-2000. Wear a helmet and you're practically invincible. They don't need chefs, which is ridiculous. I said it, and I'll say it again--we're not here to make pretty little pictures for people to feed their pets. WE ARE THE BUFFING PROFESSION. When someone thinks "buffs," they should immediately think "chef."
All right, so that was a long first point.
The second point is one that I can't believe no one has mentioned. I remember reading something from our esteemed Chef Correspondent a few weeks ago about why we're being overlooked. It was either implied or outright said by the chef developer that we're not important. Harsh, but ... well, true. SirVimes said something along the lines of, "People play this game to be Jedi and Commandos and Smugglers. When you think star Wars, you don't think, 'Chef.'"
True enough. But it's almost comical to think that the devs would be that short sighted. Here's a question to them: WHO DO YOU THINK IS GOING TO BE USING THE BUFFS?
I might be getting delusions of grandeur here, but if you make chefs' buffs better, you make the ENTIRE GAME better. The point of the game is fighting and swashbuckling and living in the Star Wars universe. Well, you can fight and swashbuckle better if ... you're STRONGER. And how do you make people stronger? BUFFS. And who is the only profession devoted solely to buffing? CHEFS.
People should be begging us for food. We should be selling on bofa treat on the bazaar for 3000c ...
OK, I shall now step down off my soapbox and see if anyone agrees with me.

I didn't read the post just the title but i agree chefs food should be at the forfront of buffs, and buffs are needed to make this game better, they make overpowered moves non-issues, simply getting my /powerboost buff allows me the abilitity to survive flamesingle two, assuming i'm only dealing with one commando, and gives me a chance at surviving an eyesthot barage.
However /powerboost alone doesn't cut in my medic skills are required for suvival in both theses situations as well
