Thread: New about the bug (Not good news, or big news, but news)

Here is a quote from Greenmarine: Stat mod fix is still in progress. Internally, it isn't an easy problem to solve. It's also a programmer thing, not a designer thing.

Just thought I would let you guys know this. The developers (and, most specifically, the programmers) are working on this bug, but it is not as easy to fix as they thought it would be. I have a feeling that it is one of those things that should be working, but there is just one tiny bit of code in there that is off.

Personally, this makes me feel a bit better (not much, but a bit.) My fear was that this bug was a low priority or that it was being lost in the shuffle or, worse, they thought it was fixed but it really wasn't.

They are actively working on it though.

I had the same thought.

A "0" instead of a "1".

Thank you for the info.

Thanks for the post. I too felt this problem was not getting the attention it deserved. The statement you quote still insults my intelligence, however, any statement at all is a comfort I suppose.

They should take this opportunity to redo all the chef buffs, seeing as they're probably crawling through the code anyway

I don't like the sound of the reply tbh, makes me think we're in for a loooooooong wait on a fix.

I'm thinking they flip a bit to fix it, and the chef class gets fixed as an accident. They will have to hotfix us back the way we were as a result.

First of all, thank you SirVimes, you take such good care of us!

Second, no offense, but that isn't really news at all. I understand feeling an eentsy bit better knowing we weren't being ignored, but since this is not only a chef issue but also a doctor and smuggler issue (as well as all the players we buff), I doubted that they weren't working on it. What I want to know is HOW they are working on it. Is it one programmer searching his own code over and over again, seeing the same thing each time since his noggin is just worn out? Or have they pulled staff from other areas to get fresh eyes looking at it? Are they working overtime? Do they even have staff dedicated to this issue, or are they still dividing their time between this and new content? Do they see the coincidence that, gee, we fixed the stack bug and this new bug was introduced at the same time...that maybe they need to look really hard at that change to see what happened?

I don't know what I'm even trying to sayhere...I don't expect they'd give you such a detailed progress report. I'm just REALLY tired of logging in to see another day has passed, and we are still broken./sigh

Possibly. Having worked in IT, it could be a case that it will be fixed today, or we may have to wait a bit. I don't think they know themselves, which is why we are not getting much more information.

I kind of wish ReblSoldier (aka Hapi) was still around to see this, just so he could make a more grandiose exit!

I kid because I care...

Business is bad, but now I can finally take the time to grind up some skills. I use to not have time, always trying to keep the vendors stocked.

do you honestly think they're working on it? or just feeding us all some more BS like they have since beta?

Just think if it was a chef only bug...

Are food buffs fixed? I've been testing this for 2 hours now on Flurry and it seems to be working fine. I have testing single doses of Tat Sun, Vercupti, Ryschate and Thakitillo. Currently testing Fishak.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Thanks,

I tried it with some Mists this evening. The first couple were ok, and my hopes were up. But then...
