Bespin Port

Increases success rate for next experimentation attempt +4

Does this increase the success rate from lets say great to amazing everytime?(or crit fial to great)??? Has anyone tried it?

I tried it out on TC, but with that character's crappy experimentation/assembly skill it got hard to determine whether I got a good experiment because of the port or because I got lucky.

My guess on the experimentation success determination is that there is some combination of experimentation and/or assembly skill, the food's complexity, tool effectiveness, station effectiveness, city speicialization and a random number generator to get some number. That number places the experiment somewhere on a table with "Critical fail" on one end and "Amazing success" on the other. The +4 from the Bespin port weights the odds more towards the better successes, but without knowing exactly how those variables are combined, I have no way of telling whether +4 is a useful bonus.

If I had to suggest something, I'd guess that drinking a +4 Port and using a +10 tool would have the same results as not drinking the port and using a +14 tool (keeping everything else the same). Of course, if you have a +14.9 tool, +44.9 station, 100 Assembly and Experimentation skill, and standing in a Research specialized city (I think that's +15 to experimentation), drinking the Port might give you a small edge over crafters with the same tools who don't use the drink.

Personally, I think that Pyollian Pie (+5-15 on initial assembly success rate) might be more attractive, especially to architects with 50k resources riding on a single click of "assemble".

hmmmm....Try using it and looking on your skill page and see if it gives you +4 to experimentation (like an SEA)....if not(which I HOPE this is not the case) it will hoepfully help us get lots more amazings hehe

I think the Architects got some dev love, and so the Pyollian Pie probably won't do too much (if they assemble and it crit fails, they get to keep their resources)

Bio-Engineers on the other hand, with their DNA template combines and such. They might enjoy some pie as they are makin their clones, cause they get no such benefit.

Or people making sabers, until Publish 7. Hmm.. Jedi Pie.
