Thread: A few questions regarding Smugglers Delight

First off, i'm not a Chef. I'm a Master Smuggler who makes good money selling a lot of crates of spice (mostly Muon Gold).

I've heard of this new chef food called Smuggler's Delight and I like the sound of it ie. the reduction in the duration of a spice downer. It sound like something my customers and myself would be quite interested in. I have a few questions regarding this food though (bear in mindthatI have no idea about how food is crafted, what can be experimented on etc.)

1) If one were to make a crate of Smuggler's Delight, how many 'hits' would be there per crate?

2) I heard a lot about these BE additives and about these light, medium and heavy slots. What do these do? (with regard to Smuggler's Delight especially)

3) With full experimentation, what stats would you get on Smuggler's Delight WITHOUT BE additives?

4) With full experimentation, what stats would you get on Smuggler's Delight WITH BE additives?

I think that's all the queries I have. Thanks in advance to anyone who answers

It will reduce it 30-50 percent without an additive.

be additives can increase the power, increase the uses, increase the duration (don't know if this applies..), or decrease the filling.

without an additive or heavy experimentation in quantity, expect this to be 1 use

Also, it already requires milk, adding a be additive to it is going to make it very expensive....

What determines whether it will be 30-50%? And is it possible to go higher?

Hmm, guess i'm going to have to tell the Chef what I want then

So that means 25 hits per crate?

Ok BE additives are going to be expensive but mik shouldn't cost all THAT much anymore right with players being able to milk certain creatures?

Jagged you just answered another question about Smuggler's Delight that I had!

I had just enough milk to make a few crated stacks of bantha butter to try making this food last night.

I was very disappointed to see that it only produced one use (without additives) and surfed over here today to see whether that was intended. At least I'm not the only one getting that - whew. So I guess this is kind of like the spice in that it is one serving per stack.

Just for fun I think I put all my points in quantity on one try to see if I could up it, with no success.

Depending on how much milk is going to end up costing me, I'm figuring the finished product could run anywhere between 600-800 credits per Delight - unenhanced. Probably 1400-1800 with an additive.

I know there is a lot of interest in this food, especially from the smuggler community, but I don't know whether it is going to be too cost-prohibitive.

On the plus side, I love the pie graphic

So how exactly does this partcular food work? Is it once food for every spice hit consumed. Say you use Muon Gold and the downer is about to hit. You then take some Delight and when the downer comes, the length of the downer is reduced. Now, once the Delight is taken, does it reduce the downer for only the spice taken at the time or is it over a period of time for a few spice hits?

Also, have any of you guys experimented on reducing the downer time?

The Smuggler's Delight isa "triggered effect" food. You eat it, and the buff stays until the trigger (in this case a spice downer) or 60m (the max time a triggered effect will currently hang around). The Delight is a single-trigger food, so it'll only reduce the time of the next spice downer. You don't have to be under the effect of a spice when you eat the food, so you could theoretically eat one before heading out (giving it time to digest), get into combat 30m later, and pop a muon. 10m later the downer occurs, triggering the Delight's effect (removing its iconfrom your Buff UI) and reducing the downer time from 3m to 3m * (1 - %), where the % is the effectiveness shown when looking at the Delight's details. So if it showed 40 in the details, the downer should only last 180s * (1 - 0.40 ) =108s.

Of course, there have been reports of the downer reduction not working, there may be some other constraint we haven't discovered (maybe you do have to eat the food while under the effect of the spice, or during the downer), or the stupid thing could just be bugged.

The effectiveness of the Smuggler's delight is experiementable by putting points into the Nutrition category when it's cooked. From my testing, you can get the reduction between 31 and 49%.

Thanks for the nicely detailed response.

The chef correspondent SirVimes is on our server (Starsider) and he said that he will make me some Smuggler's Delight once he gets the required materials. I'm looking forward to trying it out very much as I am a spice (mainly Muon Gold) junkie
