I only have the survey tree left in Artisan till Master. I will surrender everything except the tree line leading to Chef and the survey tree so I can place some harvestors down to harvest the resources needed to grind. So here are my questions:

1. What kind of resources will I need to grind Chef?

2. How many of each will I need till Master?

3. What kind of harvestors will I need to place to harvest the resources?

4. What kind of survey device will I need to use to survey for the resources?

5. Are there any particularly good spots to place harvestors?

3,4,5 It appears that the new grind methods detailed above will require only Flora resources.

I have a buddy doing chef and the main thing he has harvested (med harvesters)is Lokian Wild Wheat and Water - 200k (I think is the amount) needed. He has been grinding <something> Mist.

To get the resources you need a Flora Survey device and at least novice artisan to use it. Go to Lok and survey til you find the highest concentration of wild wheat. I know there are 70% + veins out there that will yeild high amounts with a good harvester.

Hope that helps.

Since the patch.. I dont know what to grind either.

I ground Wastril bread to Mixology 2 then shifted to Ithorian mist. Now I'm 0/0/4/2 and we get hit with patch, my grind item now needs factory items in it and gemstone for a container. That is not a simple grind item anymore. Also the link above is one that was fine before patch, but it did mention if you make components which are zero filling, and then eat them you get use xp.

I also would like a grind item.. that would be something, that requires 3-4 components that you dont need to pre-build or have from a factory. I'm going to try the IthorianMist still, and try getting use xp. Another problem is ... I'm kinda liking the idea of making these stat buff foods and drinks.. Chef is pretty cool now that I'm doing it.

Standing in the middle of a nest, using a /Unarmedspinattack2 every second Macro... actually was fun.
Not quite sure why... but I really miss it.

The FAQ lists the following:

Novice Chef: Soypro, 10 cereal, 10 vegetable, 80 xp (84 in practice mode).

Desserts I: Pastebread, 20 wheat, 10 oats, 10 water, 160 xp (168 in practice mode).

Entrees I: Synthsteak: 20 vegetables, 20 cereal, 5 hide, 180 xp (189 in practice mode)

Desserts III: Kiwik Clusjo Swirl: 40 berries, 20 fruits, 20 water, 260 xp (278 in practice mode)

I ground kiwik clusjo swirl on wednesday to finish my last two boxes of Master Chef. So until patch, I did the Ithorian Mist route. The post patch, did the swirl.
