i just got Novice Chef and im working on my Macro. I have 3 sub-standard tools at about +5 eff at best. I'm grinding on Soypro which gives me +84 xp per session. I got that from the read this string up top of this forum. If something new with more Xp is out let me know. Now to my problem.
A
Ihave issues with finding the Soypro Schematic; lastnight when i logged it was schematic #23 (took me about 1hr to find that)and now this morning when i log in to run the macro it is no longer Schematic #23. I havent went through the process of starting at Schem 01 to find the new schem yet. IS there a rule of thumb to finding the Schem numbers?
B
Also when i run the macro i get a serious rate of non-production in my tools. i'll get 3 sessions when it makes something then i go 5 or more sessions without runs. Is this due to my sub-standard tools? im also running a 3rd party macro for the resource selection. when i do get a success its a moderate one
C
On top of this i get no resource quality indicator on the side of the element boxes. The bar is just solid black unlike doc crafting when you get green/yellow/red. I have "decent"(oq 300-550)resources to grind with and every resource i select gives a solid black quality box. Sorry for seeming like a noob but im use to the Doc/CM side of the crafting.
Thanks for your time
Up-Date: Today the schematic seems to be 01. hmmmm :/...Also when i install the resources sometimes it goes through and sometimes i get a schematic not ready / ingredient slot not fullfilled. Is my macro timing off? Should i have a Greater pasue from tool to tool? My current pause is 3.

I'll answer what I can and let those older, wiser and much more beautiful than me answer the rest:
Rule of thumb for finding schem no: Open datapad. DO NOT SORT IT ALPHABETICALLY. Leave as is. Now count all the items that can be made with your tool. When you reach the item you want, you have your number. I wouldn't worry too much about exact counts.. if you're off by a couple, look in your datapad. Is the item you made listed before or after the item you want? Add/subtract a few. Retry and repeat until you hit your item. Not sure why it changed numbers overnight. The only thing I can think of is that you were standing by a station or droid either last night or this morning, which might shift the numbers. Ie, when I don't stand next to a droid/terminal I have 40 or so items I can craft with my AS tool. When I stand next to a droid/terminal I have 120+ items I can craft. Again, not sure this is the reason, but it's my guess. Unless you got a skill or dropped a skill, as both may bugger your count.
3rd party macro? No idea. High failure rate could be due to poor tool, poor resources or poor skills. Or are you in practise mode, without realising it? (You should be for pure grind. May as well grab all the xp you can).
Lack of resource ql indicator: you'll get that on soypro, alcohol, glasses, dough, protato and umm... carbosyrup! This is because these are statless components. You can make them with ql 1/1/1/1 or 1000/1000/1000/1000. End result is the same. You will never make bad or good soypro, just soypro. (Great for getting rid of excess grind ql materials or dribs and drabs of good stuff that you don't want to just delete).
About the not fulfilled, yes.. my guess is you're triggerhappy. Raise it a bit. The new and improved crafting lag has made it slower. You might try crafting elsewhere too. Ie south coro is lag-hell. Inside coro, I'm much better off (lag-wise).
Hope some or all of the above is helpful.
Good luck!

Good call on the driod/terminal thing, yes i was next to a station when i started the grind and this morning im camping a trainer. Let me set my timing back alittle on the transfer of tools from slot to slot. If that doesnt work i'll fire up the generic tool and find some good resources for better tools. Also, thanks for the heads up on the quality bars, again i wasnt aware of this hence being new to chef.

ok this must be a macro scipt problem for this schamtic not ready to load / slot requirment not fullfilled. i do it manually and the the sessions works everytime.
/ui action toolbarSlot00;
/selectDraftSchematic 01;
/pause 3;
/nextCraftingStage;
/pause 5;
/nextCraftingStage;
/pause 5;
/createPrototype Practice noitem;
/pause 3;
/createPrototype;
/pause 3;
then next tool macro follows

The one I used: (Tool bar slot 16 being the one that's shift+F5 - 00=F1, so 16 is actually the 17th tool bar slot). It's late am I making sense?

Is there a reason why everybody uses "/ui action toolbarSlotxx;" to loop macros?
I've been using "/macro macroname" seems to work fine just wondered if there was a difference i should know about.

Nope, it's all pretty much the same. I always call my recursive macros by name too. It saves me some toolbar space!

This always happened to me when I was grinding chef. I think your schematic number changes because when you learn a new skill, the schematics are added to the end of your schematic list. When you log back in next time, the schmatics reorganize themselves, changing the numbers.

If you stand next to a crafting terminal or droid you have more schems too, which buggers your count.

just as a quick helping hand.....from what they say is correct....i have also had problems using the selectdraftschematic command when i did anothe rcrafting porfession awhile ago.....i thought they took that command out.....also DO NOT USE a 3rd party macro, because to my knowledge its against the EULA and you can get banned for it so i wouldnt even try it.
