But i'd post on the server forums for rangers, most servers have some dedicated rangers.

I was annoyed that a recent spawn of Dath carn ended extremely early. I ended up getting what I expected, but with the rate I was getting it in I would have easily broke 5-6 million units. 
As for getting hunters.
Advertise on the trade forums. Spam in front of major starports.
When someone offers you meat to your vendor add them to a list of hunters. Whenever something new pops up that you want send out a mass email to those that have harvested before.
A few suggestions on the email. Include something in the email about getting off the list. Don't send out emails daily. I try to send them out no more than twice a week and that is even fairly rare.
My personal preferences although they won't work for everyone.
Everything is either unlimited or reasonable(no less than 100k) limits. Again this is reasonable to me, not reasonable to everyone.
If something new comes out, Imay stop a buy on a current resource but will still accept all current harvests. There is some trust in here, but I don't want to screw a hunter over because they don't put everything up on my vendor on a daily basis. Fairly often I see buys for x meat or hide on the forums for y price. Something new comes out and the stuff I have been harvesting now people are buying it for half the price I expected. As a chef I realize I need the hunters a lot more than the hunter needs me for credits.
I never lower my offers. If I send one out, that offer is good until the resources shifts. Usually sometime afterwards as well so hunters can get it offered to my vendors.
I don't places buys for things I know I would never harvest myself. This basically includes anything from all 5 starter planets. The one exception being insect meat for double buff vercupti. I basically limit buys to Any Dath, Any Endor, And Dant, Yavin Carn, Lok Carn.
Price will make a huge difference as well. My rough estimate on prices assume a quality hunter can harvest1-1.5 million credits worth of resources in one buff session. Dath resources are an exception usually to this. Price is going to depend a lot on a server by server basis.
