Okay Corespondants, devs CSR ---WHOEVER

How am I supposed to price these wonderful foods you have bestowed upon us???

I managed to get my Brandy to 401 49fill for 9.5 min.

I cried for 30 min.

I pride myself on my foods, service to my customers and prices.

But who in their right mind is going to pay 80k (my price per crate) for a crate of 9 min Brandy???

Really I tried this out today with my combat toon---

Do you spend lets say 240k on three crates of different foods and 3 min into combat on a lvl 70+ animal your dead anyway. If you work on lvls below your CL you get no xp so there's no point in going that route--

So Prices for all the reasources are still the same. I harvest all my own meat (well i used to) I harvest all my own water and have a BE alt so I'm good ther to that's how I keep my prices so low (for those of you wondering)

But prices on good fruits, veggies etc are still the same so how do we now recover our costs if we ethicaly can't charge a "fair" price for our new foods???

Any other Chefs with any ideas please help-- doubt anyone from SOE or SWG will have an answer or even read these.

The markets going to be shaking up for a while. First off, I'm not sure how the latest combat changes from TC are working out (or if they've been pushed to Live yet), since I spent most of my TC time over the past week finishing up the new chef menu. It's still unclear how necessary (or even how beneficial) buffs are going to be in the new combat system. The CL difference seems to trump almost every other factor in the combat I've dealt with, but that's been focused mainly on low to middle level stuff.

Second, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the new buff breakdown. Can doctors buff regen stats or just Health? I've seen some numbers of "10% for 50m" posted around. I think regen stats are set at 1000 (+/- species bonuses), so a 40% health regen buff from brandy certainly beats out doctor buffs, and the lower duration may just be the tradeoff. If the "static stats" (stats not increasing from experimentation or nutrient bonus) is an actual bug, those drinks may end up being roughly +400 / +400 / +100 (shuffling the order around for the different items) to the regen stats. I know that running out of action is a common complaint I've heard from combat profs, +action regen may be the next big seller.

For now, my only suggestion is to make the "best" food you can given the new value ranges we have to deal with. A +425 / +200 / +50 for 9.5m is still better than a +200 / +200 / +50 for 6m. I'm going to stick with a "cost + markup" method of pricing (although I'm going to drop my markup a bit until I figure out where the demand is). If the benefit to the customer doesn't reflect the cost to manufacture, let's hope price adjustments trickle down to resource vendors. /crossfingers.

send me a PM. i have completed a per cost food pricing guide, adjustable by server costs for meat, flora, milk, hide/bone, mineral, chem/gas, water, fusion, recycled, and added a profit multiplier. (set to 1 for costs)

I have no website to post this on, if any do, let me know

It is an excel spreadsheet, I will e-mail it to any that desire.

i am pricing the same price as before the CUlol i mean i dont see why i wouldn't......I priced everything the same price.......kept it easy for myself....and made it simple for my peeps who bought stuff....i lost money on some items and made money on other items....it all BALANCED out in the END! .......but this being SOE/SWG hmm maybe it's been unbalanced and i need to change my system completely *hmmmm considers flashy new colours on crates, with new sound effects when items are uncrated, with some items being 100000000 CPU and others only being 1cpu, some foods kill you on touch others take a lil bit but will still kill you*

sorry couldn't help myself lol but the first bit about pricing is the truth lol

Thanks Cara,

I've been doing the same thing everything is priced the same on the vendor win some loose some. I think my biggest cost saver is that I harvest all my own meat and get my guild to help by offering a challenge for them to meet with prizes. It benefits everyone in the end.

I have an accounting Backround in RL so my ethics kick in sometimes as far as product pricing goes

I think all we, as a whole ,can hope for is for everything to balance out in the end. It's funny my Chef is also Master Arch seems that is the only proffesion that hasn't had major changes to it.

I would just be ready for a drop in prices soon. Unless the missions get a little easier, people will not be making the same amount of money that they were before. So, as in real life, if people don't have the money to spend then prices will have to drop.I am not saying this WILL happen, just that it COULD happen. I see the economy on this game becoming a little more settled than it was before though. I think the days of making millions of dollars in a day are well over with this new game (and it is a new game folks..that's the way we need to look at it. The days of the old game have come to a end, and a new way of play is in our future..hmmm...shadows of the new movie?)
