Thread: SirVimes: An issue with experimentation. Tailor/Chef's point of view. Something broken :P
I'll make this short and sweet...I'm a tailor with Tailor IV and I get 18 experiment points in which to improve my clothing. I'm a chef with Cooking II and I get 5 experiment points in which to improve my food. I should get another 4 from the next two levels of cooking unless I'm missing something. So 18 for tailor and 9 for chef. Why the disparity? Well, Tailor has the wonderful advantage of also getting additional experiment points from the ARTISAN tree(+ to food experimentation in the Dom Arts line). Chefs do not get ANY experiment points from this same line(even though they do get food).
Here's the kicker, I have NEVER had a use for 18 points as a tailor as we can only experiment durability which is useless as far as I know(may improve quality for components which I do experiment on, but it's useless in garments). However foods have THREE different areas we can experiment in. I would like to request either a switch and give food experimentation in artisan, add food experimentation in artisan, or double the experiment points in chef for each cooking level. While this doesn't solve any of our problems, it could go towards helping balance us out. I just find this weird that Tailors get tons of points they can't really use(The only time I've used it up is when I get like 3 crit failures during experimenting) while chefs get less than half the points they can use
.
I don't know how important this is to everyone else, but if some of the other issues is fixed and you are looking for one, this may be a good one to ask. Thanks.
Ack disregard about skill points in Artisan tree. I just got time to login during lunch and I see it's Clothing CUSTOMIZATION not experimentation that is given in Artisan. I wondered where the discrepancy was then and took a look. Tailor and chef start off with +20 experimentation each in their specific field. However, the branches(Cooking and Tailoring) that increase that experimentation skill are different in that Tailoring DOUBLES what Cooking has as experimentation. So at Cooking I, chefs get +10 experiment, but Tailor I gives +20 experiment. Cooking II - IV have +20 experiment whereas Tailor II - IV have +40! This is seriously strange at the moment because, as noted above, Tailors aren't in a position to use all those points whereas chefs are in dire need of those.
On SEAs, I've found what, one(useful to chef)? At +2? And I need +8 more in order to get another point of experimentation. I'm sorry, but they said the best things will be player made. I'm already spending a ton of time searching down MOB dropped skill enhancements. Why can't a tailor or BE make these? These are obviously some of the best items. Why can't players make them? I wouldn't be so concerned if the skill enhancers could be made. Hopefully they would turn on clothing degradation then and would give a new career to both Tailors and BEs replacing the clothing as it is destroyed. Strengthen the economy ![]()

To get more you need SEA's.
English please. I've been around since the the begining of beta 3 and I have no idea what SEAs are.
