Thread: Tips for new chefs.
This mini walkthrough is for those that want to powercraft their way up. I'm still far from master, but after having a look at the entire list of schematics available I think I got the best plan to powercraft to Master.
1) Get to Mix II asap. Grind Wastril Breads to mix I then switch to deuterium pyro. Until then live on the incomes of Starshines, Teltier Noodles,Caf, K18 rations and any other dom food that sells well (those all sell well).
2) Now we are talking. There are 2 schematics here that rock. First you have the famous Tatoine Sunburn. This will get you tons of cash. That cash you will use to buy more ressources for the Sunburn, but even more important you'llbuy or harvesttons of wheat, corn and water for the second great schematic at Mix II : Ithorian Mist. This horrible drink is very good to grind (160xp per drink).
From now on there are several ways to proceed. If you are not concerned by making better food, then powercraft to entree IV. There you have what looks like the best schematic to powercraft : braised canron.
Or you want to make more profit and better food as you grind, then I recommend you go up cooking to III or IV, then entree II and dessert II. You'll get a fine selection of usefull food that you can experiment on to make them really desirable. That will also allow you to make larger stacks of Sunburn, that you can sell more expensive for the same amount of ressource.
This is just a mini guide and is incomplete. Nonetheless I think it can help those that want to rise fast in the skill tree. Feel free to comment and criticise, just don't flame it for the sake of flaming ![]()
ya thanks for the tips!
one question though, how does it work to make factory crates of food? is it bugged or does it work out somehow

Great Tips. I was just thinking of going from Nov Chef to Entree 2 to get to gwouch then head up the Mix Tree but I may just head for Mix 1 right away. Thanks again
Gwouch is only Entrees I. I took Entrees I first for Gwouch, then Mix I, Mix II. Just got Cooking I yesterday and heading straight for Cooking IV. In retrospect, it might have been a better idea to go Mix I and Mix II first, since I was really strapped for cash and running destroy missions for harvester maintenence the entire time I was at Novice Chef. If you don't need the cash from Sunburns though, I'd go with Entrees I first and grind Gwouch to Mix II.
I'm not familiar with factories, I still have to get one. So I can't answer your question, sorry ![]()
