Thread: Is Chef Food Crafting XP hosed?
It's a pity chef doesn't get the same XP as Smuggler on Spices - they get 4xp per resource :/
I recommend Wastril bread up to Stewed Gwouch ant Entree's I. Gwouch is very easy to make, so I found that the best XP item - many people do Ithoriam Mist (mix II), as it's more XP, but it uses 3 specific resources.
Both gwouch and mist give 2xp per resource used, +5% practice mode.
ninja ex-chef post:
ithorian mist gives 170xp without practice... 178 with, so it gives a bit better than 2/res
The problem is, for a Novice chef most of the recipes give only about 20 xp or so. When you need 32000 for the next level, that makes the grind insane. Yes, other classes have had to grind (I know, I've gone through the grind myself--my chef is an alt) but generally they've been able to do that grind in a slightly less daunting fashion.
While grinding with 73 xp/unit with the Wastril Bread is a bit faster, it's also very expensive when you factor in the xp/unit.
At this point, after reading the boards I think I've decided just to dabble in Chef and go Mixology II for the Tatooine Sunburns --which should nicely compliment my smuggler. But then I see that hill just to Mix I, and wonder if I just wasted the 19200 xp and 5000 credits. ![]()
Q
weapon crafter takes more exp to get those first couple levels I think ...
But I would say they are the easiest artisan to master because it takes 1 resource thats it all you need is steel ... so anyone that uses a macro can just drop a field of harvesters on a 90% crap steel spot and master in over a few days
My understanding was that everything crafted nets you about 2 xp per resource unit, and that by doing using "practice" mode, you get a little bonus (10% if memory serves).
So why is it that making Wastril bread (35 units of cereal + 10 units of fruit = 45 resources) and creating in practice mode I'm get 73 xp? Tried it twice, same result. When I tried it in normalmode (where you get a product in your inventory), I got 70 xp.
Is this a bug? If not, the grind just got... grindier.
Q
I'm using Gwouch, and will likely use Gwouch all the way to master for the simple reason that I can do it with 2 resources, and I found a neat macroto ease the mind numbingly boring grind.

wat resources does Gwouch use ?
20 Water
25 Organic
5 Organic
That 5 Organic requirement is great for getting rid of scraps of stuff that's too small to use in anything else.
