Can anyone confirm ever getting some of this resource with good statistics? Seems to me the malleability is usually pretty high, but DR OQ and UT are most often below average. I dont think I've ever seen any evergreen soft wood with high DR OQ and UT.

I just got an order for 2 crates of ice blaster so I'm wondering if I should look for better wood or just use the crappy one ...

I had some with OQ of 700's I didn't even look at the other stats. My Ice Blasters came out very nice. Honestly I never look for stats other than OQ,Flav, and Pot Eng. I try to make sure the total of the 3 equals 1400+ at least and on other items ( wood, hide, metal) i look for the highest OQ i can find. My foods always come out very well. I am sure those other stats do affect our foods, but it is hard enough with these frequent shifts, so I just load up on items with high levs of those 3 things

Decay resistance and unit toughness DO effect chef items, so yes, if you get these higher it will help alot.

Also, any schematics that need "minerals" and not metal, try using a gemstone, which I think almost always have a high unit toughness rating. I think you'll find the results most interesting.

I have some wood with the following stats: 96 DR, 816 malleability, 980 OQ, 327 Shock res, 27 UT. I got it off Lok, go figure.

I haven't seen good UT or DR on soft wood yet.

Interesting -- I guess certain resources have a soft cap in some of its attributes.

Well, think of it in real life terms, what is the decay resistance and structural toughness of pine? That answers your question.
