I think it would be very usefeul for a chef to be able to set up a buffet table, complete with food and drink of his choosing.

This way, for those of us that also adventure (i'm also a commando), we wouldn't have to waste 5 minutes (literally) trading party members food, waiting for them to accept the trade, et cetera.

This way, someone could make a camp, we set out the buffet table, everyone eats and drink til they are full, and the chef destroys the table.

Further ideas for this:

Make is creatable only in town, a camp, or house - like using a pet/droid

Have any excess food/drink not used while the table is up, destroyed - for balance purposes

This would be great for setting up sample tables in a shop, for potential customers to try a single use of something to see its benefits.

what do you guys think?

Cheers!

That sounds pretty interesting to me. I have had an idea or two myself about what chefs could get as a new skill. Since you already started a thread ill just post it here.

First take deserts and entrees put em in 1 line and throw out the crap that is basically useless or a reapeat of another buff.

Second make a new chef line called Serving or somethign like that. anyone that has ever eaten at a fine resteraunt knows that Presentation and Serving are part of the dining experinece. Make these buffs that we put on the person kinda like doctor buffs. This way since all we do is buff, make it so that we can buff people with higher level buffs with this skill, and send em out with a doggy bag of food to eat on there travels.

Yes Indeed Chefs need something to expose people to thier uses. We can make stuff to boost attributes real good we are like Mages in other games in some respect

I really like the idea. I belong to a PA. I would love to serve like a banquet for our meetings .

A food vending droid might not be a bad idea here. Also helps out the DE's and might be a bit easier to just whip out the droid, drop some food in it and then let people in via a list or something similar to a house. Hell, you could do a lot of that with the housing and droid code already in the game.

Or even easier just make it a mobile vendor. Just remove the ability to charge for your wares from it and give it the useage list like a house entry list so that the business and merchant lines dont become completely useless.

I like this idea...but I am thinking more of a picnic basket since you are talking about using it in camp.

Come on..we need a pie throwing ability. You could put it at master level or desserts 4. People would want it so bad, they would drop BH trees just to pick up pie throwing mastery.

Yeah, I was thinking a new kind of droid that could be a server/vendor. You could use it in camps, and you could use it in cities. I'd love to fill up a droid with food and setup a bunch of patrol points for it. Either in a city, or in a cantina. It could roll around and pretty much act like an NPC. When somebody conversed/clicked on it, it would stop and present a menu or something to them. I think that would be pretty nice.

If you look at a 'small' camp the only place that one could rest stuff on is the small cloth table thing. This obviously couldn't hold more then a few drinks or a plate or two.(Maybe 3 food items total). But if you look at a high tech field base it has tables and stuff that could hold a whole lot of food.
An idea might be to go through the game and apply a basic storage formula to tables across the entire game that food could be stored in or on. With some tables, like the big huge ones you find in the GCW bases holding massive tons of food, and say a cafe table holding maybe 8 items and the small novice camps holding 3.
