If it took 9 months for anything to be done to Chef, but after that 9 months of things the way it is, Chef's became really cool, would you be happy or angry?

I was a Chef from day 1 (well, a domestic artist from day 1 anyway), and I really think that being a Chef is fun. Sure there's problems, but other people have it worse. I rarely want to do something I can't solely because of the limitations of being a Chef.

What do you guys think?

Call me what you will, but I'm begging everyone to keep it friendly, because I would like to see what people think and I don't want Garva to step in.

Thanks.

If after nine months, coolness popped up out of the blue, I'm not sure I'd be around to hear about it. I'm not saying I'd cancel my account, but I'd probably drop my chef skills after about 6 months.

Now, if we had some advance notice of planned cool features being added to chefs, even if it's going to be nine months coming, that'd definitely be something to make me happy.

I agree, I think if the time schedule were to be that long, there should definetly would need to be communication between the devs and us, notifying us that it would take that long.

Yes, I'd be happy if they TOLD use in plan simple text (none of that "double speak not really saying anything"). If in a post they said, "We have isolated several problems with Chefs concerning thingsincluding buff duration anddesirablity. Also we have thought of some new things to implement to make it more enjoyable for Rollpplaying purposes. These changes will be ready to go live in about 9 months. Coincidently this will be 5 days before the release of our space expansion, so you can't say we lied about changing Chef before Space expansion. *evil laugh*"

I'd be happy that they owned up a little but then I'll have so much stored anger that I'd buy the latest First Person Shooter carnage filled game and kill everything in sight.

If it's any consolation, Bio Engineers have been being strung along for nigh the last 6 months.

Gotta wonder how many programmers actually work full time on the SWG Live team... 2?

If chef suddenly became "THE" new uber cool thing and everyone jumped on and became a chef... I'd probably leave the profession. That's just me though, I have to be different...

Yup

When these new supposed changes come around and hopefully food is actually usefull, we will likely become one of the richest crafters in the game, making disposable buffs that will hopefully stack with Doctor buffs. I think the power games will be knocking down our door. I mean weapons smiths sell a gun to a customer and don't see him for a few weeks, if we can sell descent food we are talking about multiple regular customers. I can't keep up with my orders now, never mind if food actually can do something useful.

...butthat is a day I will be sad. I have always said that allthe trueChefs here chosethe profession because we likemaking food and being chefs, not because it is a get richquick profession or uber powerful and whenChef gets updated (eventually) we are going to be more popular anda lot of people will jump on the band wagon .

Every guild will need thier own guild chef so they can get theircombat buffs cheap and more chefs meanless business for us all due to more food vendors to choose from and under cuttingin pricing(I don't see the new chefs having the sense of family that we have)

So an update is a Win/Lose situation for us. Better food but a large band wagon group sucking up all our business (and you thought Holochefs were annoying, these people will be here to stay)
