Since it applies to all classes with Mastery. If the Correspondents could talk to each other and see if this hasn't been raised before maybe you could bring it up as a shared idea?

It involves Apprentice XP. Now normally I am a proponent of the status quo with things like this, I think there are bigger fish to fry, but it doesn't hurt to bring a new idea to the table. My idea was one of *selling* AXP. The way you would do this is by encoding a data disk with your knowledge of a certain skill, then putting it up for sale somewhere. Anyone looking to learn the skill would come along and buy it and the document's author would get the AXP for it in the same way that UXP or Merchant XP is tallied.

I can't think of a lot of reasons why this wouldn't work. There would be no reason to mark up your AXP because, let's face it, everyone needs it. The point would be to sell it not to horde it. Also, if someone was marking up their AXP disks, then hell, I'll just make the trip to an NPC vendor and pay the credits to them.. it's the Master's fault for letting that AXP go into the ether, all for wanting to make a quick buck. This isn't really meant to kill the AXP market, just to loosen it up a bit and provide a bit of convenience to crafters everywhere? Sure the way to learn is from a true master, but.. there's schools of correspondence isn't there?

Just a thought. SirVimes you seem like a pretty on-the-ball kinda guy.. if you can use this idea without it taking too much time or without letting it take more priority than other more relevant issues, please feel free to use it as you see fit.

I am not sure how it would work in practice, I'm guessing it would be a one shot "use" and whatever skill the user decided to learn, it would teach that skill then poof. This is to prevent it from becoming too complicated a system. In other words, much the same way you can know Desserts IV but still teach Desserts II to someone, the disk you encoded would have on it your combined experiences in the field, but would only be applicable to one use. In other words if you want to learn 2 skills you have to buy 2 disks.
