At the corr summit, I came across some interesting things other people have been doing to enhance their prof forums. I do bounce through ones that interact a lot with chefs (BE, scout/ranger, artisan, sampling of the combat profs) but I had missed a couple of these.
I was wondering whether any of these sounded like something we might want in ours? If implemented, these would end up as stickies (orlinks in the "read this" sticky) to increase the visibility of various issues/information.
- Vendor lists. The BE forum has a master vendor list for BEs to post waypoints to their stores for each galaxy. This gives customers visiting our forum an additional resource beyond the trade forums (which require you guys to continually post/bump "ad space").
- New item suggestion thread. I've been thinking of just doing this anyway to give us a single spot to keep track of various ideas for new foods.
- Bugged item thread. Unless you think this is a really bad idea, I'm definitely doing this. So we'd have someplace to gather things like "Havla doesn't work with < 100 bonus", "Garrmorl gated by missing stats", "Barrels have same multiplier as small glasses", etc.
- "Food tips". I'm not sure if there might be enough to fill this out, but it's something to think of. This would be things that kelele has in his/her various "Food 101" posts on the Corbantis board (do a search with "Food 101" in the subject, kelele as the author, corbantis board for some excellent examples). This would help to inform our customer base about some lesser known food effects: Parwan's instant burst run w/ 90 recovery bonus, Correlian Ale's music wound healing bonus, etc.
I'm going to either edit or completely re-do the "Read this" sticky in the near future, I think it could use some updating. Let me know whether any of the above sound useful, any other suggestions, or if there are any informational threads lying around that should also be included.

I think #1 is a waste of time because we have no way of updating the list. After a few months it will have too many wrong locations and quit chefs in it to be usefull. Unless you want to make a new one every month or so ?
The rest are good ideas.

a buglist is really necessary.
However, all this stuff should be combined into a single thread with links to every other thread. There really shouldnt be anymore then 1 static sticky, with a couple ones popping up for a couple weeks here and there and going away.

I agree that #1 is useless, though it seems like a good idea at first, I doubt people who quit chef will come back to the board and delete their own post, so it would after a while be totally innaccurate. As for the others I just hope they don't get clogged with repeat information. It's kind of frustrating reading a bug list that has 5 of the same bugs listed.

I agree with the others on #1. I'd consider it more of an advertisement than anything and to me there are much better ways for people to advertise.
Bug list I think is a very good idea. Dodge food is one that should be included as well. I can't remember to amount of times I've seen people say it doesn't work because they never see "dodge" in the combat log.

I agree, #1 would be too much maintainance, that would be more suited towards advertising in the galaxy trade forums, which I have seen chefs doing.
2-4 Sound good though
Though you already have 3 pegged down pretty well
Suggestions and tips sound great though
I'll be sure to contribute

I think they all sound like good ideas. I don't mind a bug thread. Since new bugs can pop up every patch, and we rely upon you to help communicate our problems, one place for you to gather all the bugs sounds helpful.
I would say that item 1 does need a way to be updated. The Master Lists on some forums that are 9 pages long and that go back to the early days of the game are not very helpful.
How about doing it like Jeassa was doing it on the Galaxy Trade boards? Put up a post that covers a couple of months, so that it can be updated semi-regularly; something like "Master Chef Vendors for Sept - Oct" Let everyone who is still active enough to come read the chef forums update their information as needed. Granted it repeats posting in the galaxy trade forums, nevertheless we do get people coming here looking for chefs.

2 and 3 are definitely a great idea.
4 would be nice, i'm sure people have a lot of tricks about some foods noone knows about yet
1 is a waste of time as was already said (it sounds really good at first, but as was said, few people will take the time to delete their posts (or like me, can't delete it) )
