Hey guys,

Just finished with master tailor on my last char. Thinking about going chef (perhaps) unless someone here dissuades me. I really want some kind of combat class as well (as to use the food to the most benefit). What other professions are you guys tying in with Chef?

Is Chef fun--I know it's not graphical at all (unlike Tailor) so you're selling "behind the scenes" stuff which kinda stinks.

Also, experimentation. Useful as a chef? didn't do jack as a tailor and I like to experiment.

thanks!

Experimentation is extremely, extremely useful as a chef. It's our bread and butter...

...no pun intended.

I tie doctor with chef, which is nice as I can go on hunting parties, make money making and selling crates ofmeds and buffs, and give people decent doctor buffs when they complain about food.

Chef is kind of perversely fun, but the class needs a lot of help. As for the experimentation question - yes experimentation makes a difference, BUT the schematics are extremely inaccurate. Use high unit toughness and decay resistant ingredients,to get from 20% max experimentation in a statto 60% (and wonder where the other 40% went). If you want good experimentation, I think doctor meds are pretty good on that count right now.

Thanks for the info...not sure about Doctor though. How about CH? anyone tied chef into CH? Seems useful to be able to buff your pets.

From everything I've heard, the stat effects of food do not affect your pets. They eat food to heal wounds, but the type of food you give them does not matter one bit. Chefs making pet food generally use bad resources and make low-end stuff for that reason.

Doctors can buff pets though .

im a Battle Chef (Carbineer/chef)

i dont do too much chefing, but i do a lot of carbining and i am almost to novice CH and i got a lot of medic skills, and almost all of my artisan skill boxes filled........and some entertainer skills (which will be the first to go when i need to free up some points)

you'd think doctor/entertainer/chef would be a good combo may be even add on smuggler and make food spice and health buffs while you cure all wounds and BF.

Just as an FYI, master doc + master chef leaves enough skill points left for maybe explore I only, that's dropping all artisan lines but domestic. I think entertianer would be a good combo.. it's nice to be able to heal people in some way when they come to your shop.

well you dont have to master them all, just get the spice line in smuggling, pick a line in chef, for doctor you might just take a couple skills and entertainer may be just music 4 and EH4 i think thats doable.
