Thread: Noob melon nerf == We are not planning to fix one use crate food any time soon
If they had enough problems with their database that taking 2 melons away from newly created characters is a fix of some kind, does anyone in their right mind think they are going unleash thetorrent of new, multistack items that properly working food crates would create?
With the large farms in now, if our crate items ever start coming out multiuse, every chefwould have that factory going full time, output would go through the roof in every galaxy. I just don't think they want that to happen.

Stop being so bloody negative. I was not going to say anything, but my thread about the 1 use crate issue got dev response. I've asked if I can post his reply to me. If he says yes, I will post it here. Give these guys a break, they are working 20 hours a day fixing scores of bugs all while trying to keep ungrateful people like yourself happy.
/rant off
However, if this is fixed there'd be a lot more crates in existence... that would probably be offset by the lowering of the number of people carrying around "Doc's Grocery Bag" with 20 Tatooine Sunburn items within it. (Thereby saving 20 db entries, 1 for the bag, 19 sunburn stacks)
I don't know...
I'm not sure that factories (for Chefs) aren't working as intended so far as the single stack foods. There is SO much room for more Chefs in the galaxy. I've worked my arse off filling orders since achieving master and I've come to the conclusion that there is just no way that I can support more than a dozen or so regular, heavy-using customers without going completely nuts. It just takes so much time to gather excellent resources and create the food with all the experiments.
What this means is that Chefs will never have the problem that architects have. You could have 50 to 100 Master Chefs running around making food and still have a food shortage (which means decent pricing). This also leaves plenty of room for Novice Chefs and even Artisan Cooks to make things like jawa beer and teltier noodles... and pet food. Pet food is a completely viable market an nothing to be sneered at. A stack of 8 to 10 of an inexpensive recipe priced at 100 per serving will sell if your shop is convenient and you have a lot of those stacks.
Chef may actually be the best thought-out (if it wasn't a fluke) profession in the game. The increase of our buffs and duration will just increase demand and make an even bigger shortage of food in the galaxy.
I'm just afraid that they're going to mess with Chef and screw up a good thing.

I am 200% sure that they are NOT working as intended. In the next week or so I expect to see a fix for this either get pushed live, or show up on TC.

You come across as a little bit negative yourself with a sig like this.

Chef Factory Bug: Food that is crafted in a factory comes out with one(1) use, regardless of how many uses you had on the schematic. This has been happening since beta!

But, I still Love ya man.
Our choices are, we can wait for them to get around to fixing things, or we can take 14 boxes and 100's of hours work to the digital toilet and pull the handle.
I'm still waiting....for now.

Still having fun playing SWG
have the devs ever actually said
"chefs are supose to make more then one item per stack in a factory and this is a bug?"
Because a few people use to preach that is was a feature that promoted hand crafted food items.. Where Factory making was a Twinky and Hand Crafting was a Cake
