Thread: Bioeng Components

I have been fooling around with different bio eng components when making pastebread, soypro and protato's. Mainly BioStrength, Cognitiveenhancer and Devaronian. When made they all give bonus' but when i add them as the optional ingredient the come out with no additions to said soypro etc. Is this a system that is broken? if its not, then why the hell would we need to add optional components, seeings how micronutrients dont do anything in my eyes. And when crafted i spent my 9 points of experimentation to see if that would do anythign, but it didn't. Help me find the truth

It appears to be broken. I had a huge batch of bioeng components I was using to help the bioeng get UXP, 3 different kinds (mind thingys, strength thingys, and duration thingys).I used those in soypro and protato, and used the soypro and protato in various things. The stuff I made with them did not turn out noticably better in any way.

What's interesting is I did a smaller version of this experiment many weeks ago. At that time I did see a small (very small) boost to strength from the strength component.. Either that was a misperception or the situation got more buggy. Not that the components were worth the hassle with that small boost, especially as they can't be made in crates.

They've been working perfectly fine for me.

Make sure you have well-experimented and high-in-the-tree (master, preferrably) components; I know that the basic-level duration enhancer would only increase duration by about 5-10 seconds in the end product. However, I have some master-level things that have added as much as 80 points to a buff's base stats.

They are working for me. The duration enhancers indicate the %, and they are somewhat small, 5-6% or so from the person making them for me. So, I use them in the foods with long duration to get a better boost. I made 20 with and 20 without as a test with each of the bio engineered components I have access to and it definitely made a difference. Now, is that difference enough to justify the cost? That is the question. They take 50-60 resources each to make.... So, let's say you're making Bivoli, long duration and calls for Protato. You use the duration enhancer at 6%, so you get an additional minute, is that going to be a value of 200-300 extra credits per stack? The Bio engineers need to make a profit, too.... I would like to see a "balance pass" on these bio engineered products, too. Interesting issue for discussion.

Hmm, well I was using grinding components, so they weren't fully experimented or anything. But can I ask - when you experiment on the soypro, do you see the bonus from the biocomponent listed in the results display? For me it always showed "+str 0, +focus 0, etc..." even though delving the biocomponent showed non-zero bonuses.
