Thread: Filling. Needs attention from chefs.

Hello to all the chefs out there. Although I am not a chef, as a fighter I do see the huge amount of potential that your class has and I thought I would bring up a topic which I, as the end user of your products, see as needing discussion.

The topic is (as you may have guessed) filling on foods. There is a great website out there which I'm sure all of you have been to (http://www.thehegemon.com/chef.htm) which lists all the foods and what they do. I have found this invaluable and quite the timesaver (and post saver). However, there is nothing that tells how filling a food is. I know that you all can not experiment on filling (was told this by a chef friend) but that does not mean this is not an important piece of information.

Here is a perfect example. I have heard that you can only eat 1 Breath of Heaven at a time and it gives around +400 - +500 focus (the stat I'm currently on the lookout for). However, you can drink 5 Cafs (yes, the domestic arts Caf) at once! And 5 Cafs give +400 - +500 to your focus. The advantage however, is that Caf is _way_ cheaper and _way_ easier to make than Breath of Heaven. As a fighter, I will be sucking these things down every few minutes so I need something that is cheap. I can not afford to spend 500 creditsevery 5 minutes just to get a good focus buff.

To be more specific on how in depth I think this issue needs to be looked into is not only how many of one type of food/drink you can hold at a time, but rather how much space it takes up in your stomache. Let's say your stomache can hold 10 units, if breath of heaven takes up 6 units sure, you can only drink one. But if Caf takes up 2 units then you could hold a breath of heaven *AND* 2 Caf giving you +700 or so to focus over the +500 you would get using either food alone.

Now, if I'm not mistaken (I could be, and please correct me if I am wrong) food does not have a numerical filling number listed on it. However, when you eat/drink something you get little bars filled up in your character sheet. My suggestion is that we use these bars as a guide to how filling food is. So Caf would take up something like 6 bars (servers are down so I can not check at this time) while Breath of Heaven would take 30 bars. Someone would need to count the total number of bars on a full stomache as well. Also, it would need to be checked to determine whether screen resolution effects the number of bars shown (I do not think it does).

If anyone has any further thoughts on this subject I would love to see some discussion get going as I think food has a lot more potential than people utilize because of the stacking nature it has (something which doctors and smugglers can not do). A good stack of food buffs could be quite powerfull if you know what you are doing.

One last question, does anyone know if the food / drink bars are separate or not? That is, can you fill up both your food and drink bars at the same time or can you only have one full bars worth of food+drink at any given time? If you can do both then I would also like to know what chef items are food and what are drinks (some you can tell by name or skill box, others you can not).

The food and drink bars are independent of eachother. Once I hit master I will be doing lots of experimenting on all of the foods to figure out that very question, as it is something that interests me to figure out. I'll also see if certain stats on resources effect the 'filling' of the item, or if it is a hardcoded number to balance the number of buffs one can have in effect.

Read and possibly respond this thread if you'd like to see a better indication of your fullness level.

Yeah I'm kind of dissapointed there are a bunch of great foods that fill you up after 1 bite.
