Astoundingly enough, I made slightly over 20k last night selling nothing but Novice Chef foods. I couldn't believe I had done it, considering how low the buff values are compared to the Domestic Arts line. And not only did I make a huge profit (well, huge by my standards at least) but I made it halfway out of Novice!

The general consensus of this board is to burn through novice as quickly as possible, because the real profit is in Mixology II. But by doing that, you bypass some really decent fun and money potential! I mean, not everyone can afford a 1200 credit stack of Tatooine Sunburn... but most everyone CAN afford a 'Bantha Beer' for only 200 creds.

Here is what I did:

First, I have three flora harvesters going (berries, corn and beans) plus a moisture farm. I began the day visiting the harvesters and paying my maintenence fees. I noted with some distaste that it costs me an arm and a leg to keep those things churning, and decided to stock the Bazaar to make some cash.

I made 50 Wastril Breads (renamed to "Pet Munchies"), 100 Charde (renamed some "Bantha Beer" and others "Oasis Ale"), and about 100 Almond-Knewu Crisps. I literally filled every available inventory slot, including all four of my backpacks and the majority of my bank security box.

Then I stocked the Mos Espa Bazaar with about a third of my total product, charging 200 per stack of food. I hopped a shuttle to Mos Eisley and repeated the process with another third, and then jumped ports to Bespine and unloaded the remainder of my foods.

At this point, my total costs are: 20 per bazaar sale (20x250)= 5000 credits. Plus 500 or so for shuttle costs.

By the end of the night, I had sold well over HALF the stuff in the Bazaar, and had made over 26,000 credits. Minus my expendatures, thats a 20.5k profit! Plus, most likely I am selling the rest of the stuff this morning while I write this, hehe.

Anyhow, I am not posting to brag, but rather,to show that where there is a will there is a way. You CAN make money on the Novice chef recipies. I hope this helps some novice chefs (like me) break the mold and have fun with the tools the class provides...and stop grinding on wastril bread

Although, I'm glad to see your sales are doing well on the Bazaar, your profit is not true.

You are not putting into count the cost of upkeep of your harvesters, nor, the cost (if any) of the harvesters themselves.

Just thought I'd point that out. Great tips on using the bazaar though.

Yeah, my wife is still only an artisan. Friday nite we played, and she made carbosyrup and dough so I could whip up 20 or so Blap biscuits. Sure the exp for those is relatively low, but she leveled fast from the Uxp, and I had another treat to sell.

Incidentally, all my novice food is 'free, but tips are most appreciated'

I find the combat types will tip 500-1000 for Charde and a stack of Wastril, meatlump or blap.

Then you get the high rollers who tip 5,000 to 10,000...kind of pre-paying for a night of drinks n' snacks.

I'm a chef/DE/bio eng. and I have 50k in the bank and no maintenance fees to worry about.

*kicks back* This chef thing is kinda nice!

As far as I know you are only allowed to have 25 items at one time on the bazaar system at one time.

I sell all my novice chef foods as well. I make maybe 2-3K a day selling them. Mine don't fly off the bazzar as fast as yours, but they do sell. I'm sure 99% of them go to pet foods, but who knows. I name some for pet food, but I try to sell my better buffs ones straight up. hard to knwo what people do with what they buy though.

This doesn't sound correct. I know for a fact you can only have 25 items in all bazaars at any one point in time, I use bazaars all the time. So how you can have 250 items in at once must either be a bug or something. I wish I could load up bazaars like that, I would dump my vendor in an instant.

Please elaborate as to how this was accomplished.

Could be that he sold 20 in the time it took to get to next town. There was a tip of the day about food helping reduce incap time (and it works great), maybe there were a lot of people getting pets from trainers and needing the food.

Yeah, you have to keep restocking the Bazaar. 25 is the limitas far as I can tell.Between stockings, I spent my time harvesting berries and such. The stock literally flew out of the Bazaar so quickly I had to turn back to town by the time I got to my hotspot. Since posting this, I have had to remake another 200 or so stacks of food to sell, and made my rounds yet again.

As far as why the stuff is selling, I can only attribute it to what I name the food. While 'Wastril Bread' does NOT sell, "Pet Munchies" do. In fact, it is my top seller!

must be only your server

I can stock the bazaar with stacks of tatoonie sunburns for 100 credits im sure they wont sell in 1 hour 2 hours or even 1 day

on my server corbantis the bazaar is never searched for food items , because either no one knows they are burried under misc or they benifits of most foods are so small its not worth the effort.

hey Reblesoldier

I'm on corbantis server too!! I play on Rori. I don't have any problem selling my goods. I also own a shop on Rori, finally my shop is getting more business than my bazaar sales Course I have been handing out samples like mad, and putting up tips on how to use the food under owner comments on my bazaar sales. I think it's finally catching on, on Rori anyway.

I think people don't look on the bazaars on our servers for food beause there is never any food up. I check the whole universe for food often, mostly to see what I should be charging, and I never find much up. I figure either no one puts it up or it sells so fast I don't see it. I have had so many people ask for higher level foods I can't make yet I had an idea to go off planet and purchase some to sell in my shop, mostly to keep my regular clients happy, but I couldn't find anything higher than I could make up for sale except the occcasional tatooine sunburn. I didn't want to hop 2 planets over for one stack of sunburn.

Only about 1500 more xp to go to get to novice chef!!!

The really sad part of this, is we are really only making pet food. I have food that gives some very nice buffs and doesn't sell, but put pet food up and it sells by the ton. I'll take any sale I can get to help me get some money, but what does this say about our profession. We can make just as much money with domestic arts selling pet food.

I can make money selling some of the novice foods as well. The only ones that I still make are air cake, caf, kanali wafers and teltier noodles.

I price them the same way I price everything else -- based on the number of resources required.

I don't have any problem selling them on the bazaars and on my 3 vendors in Talus and Tatooine.

I make Almond Kwevvu Crisp Munchies for pet food since I get chef xp for them.I also rename them "Pet Chow" andthey do very well!

Of course my best seller is Tatooine Sunburns - they are priced at 500 credits per use and they sell like hotcakes. Someone bought 300 uses off me last week!

I like hearing all the creative ways that people are selling their goods.

I am going to be going Nov Chef as soon as I log back on...

I wanted to tell you WHY I've decided to go Nov Chef.. =)

It might assist you in selling your items.

I play on Bria server and am a Senior Officer in the OLT guild. We do various missions, and had just gotten one of our Doc's to rez. Well... a few of us were having problems with our armor and our stats not resetting. We had to log off and hope that they reset by the time we got back one. For someone reason I decided to eat one of my Artisan air cakes that I had been goofing off with making. It reset every single one of my stats. We discovered that when you're rezed it screwed your stats up for an unknown amount of time. This throws a huge damper on our being rezed. What's the point if you're unable to get your stats back.

WELL... since I discovered that the air cakes reset the stats I've been bombarded by my guild to make more. EVERY time we head out for a hunting trip I end up spending almost 2 hours hand making them (Have recently invested in a factory). It was getting outrageous...

The boys have been spreading the word... to those that know no better... and I've been requested to make more and more.

SOOOOooooooooo... I decided to head toward Nov Chef and see what other wonders awaited me. It probably helps that even in a GAME I can't bring myself to take drugs.. =) So it's med enhancements and food boosts...

You probably all know this, but I thought I'd share. I've also been getting requests to feed pets, since we've got quite a few CHs in the guild as well... but it's not just the cats eating my cakes.. =)

the cost of harvestors is quiet minimal. On a 100% site it's like less then a 1/4th of a credit per unit. On a 50% site, 1/2 a credit.
