Thread: Why I dread amazing success

Sometimes when I'm experimenting I have a poxy failure that removes all of the yellow from the boxes in that particular line. Then if while I have no yellow, I get an amazing success experimentation result, no yellow appears. However if I get an amazing success when there is yellow in the line, I gets lots more yellow.

This is wierd because if I get any other positive result when I have no yellow in the particular line, I do get yellow in my line.

Why is amazing success so useless in this situation? Does anybody know?

a failure means no further experimentation is possible in that stat.

I always thought this was because the sucess was judged by a % of the lowest value that particular bar started at or went down to..

So if the starting number was 10 which would have been the lowest stat a amazing sucess would be 100% of that so +10 times how many experimentation points used.

But if you have a critical failure that lowers a stat to 0 which now becomes the lowest number (lower then 10) everything is now a % of 0. 100% of 0 is still 0. even if you used 10 experimentation points

The only way they could fix this is if they removed 0 from a number you could get on failures and replaced it with 1

A dev responded on this issue once. Basically if you crit fail such that a stat is at 0% there is nothing that will increase it. You notice you will get all "amazing successes" if that happens, since it can't get any worse I guess.

The developer response was that he felt the interface should prevent you from experimenting on a stat that hit 0%. This hasn't been implemented yet though.
